Possible Galaxy S5 leaked (lots of pics)

Well now...

-Literally just a larger S4
-Still no on-screen buttons
-Still a physical home button, with a finger-print scanner in it (guess who else just put a finger-print scanner in?)
-Still gingerbread-like, heavily layered UI (from what we've seen)
-Flattened color scheme (guess who else just flattened their color scheme???)
-Plastic, again (not necessarily a bad thing)

Ugh. We'll see what happens at the announcement later, but this is definitely disappointing. Maybe I was naive for expecting a bigger departure. Even HTC, who had imo the best designed Android phone of last year, made more changes than this. The UI cues, finger print scanner in home button and gold color are a less-than subtle straight rip-off of Apple too.

I can't stand in screen buttons. Rather have the home button.

Right cause Apple was the first with a gold phone.

Cool, but the fact is that it's completely backwards against Android design philosophy to have physical buttons.

Also, please tell me you're kidding about the color. Gold, flattened color scheme and fingerprint sensor RIGHT after the iPhone does it... Even without considering the past history here, there's no chance that all of that was coincidental.

Gold only works if the DESIGN & BUILD works.

This is where Samsung needs to just STOP because this looks ugly.

Never a fan of the S series but like the S4 I will buy this and turn it into profit.

That gold one is disgusting!

Actually, they all look terrible, it's just that the gold one looks even worse..

I think that the problem is that people don't realize that when you have on screen buttons, you literally lose screen real estate because there has to be a space for the buttons

But are they the only ones. HTC released the One max which has a fingerprint scanner. LG have just announced new models in gold. HTC's new phone will have a gold version and released a gold variant of the HTC One. Also Apple were not the first to release a phone with a fingerprint scanner.

I think people buy a phone because of its looks only. Specs is what im into and if the s5 is right its getting copped point blank. If not its getting passed

Eww. I don't like it. Also, why in God's name did they feel the need to make it even bigger! The s4 was already big as it is. When I buy the galaxy s series, I want phones, not phablets, please.

I actually like it bigger than the S4...the Note 3 size was pretty good but too big...something in the middle of the Note 3 and S4 is great!

You're right about that those instances. In this case, Samsung is blatantly following Apple. Not that I think that's a bad thing; a fingerprint scanner could enhance functionality, and the gold color could be pretty nifty. But I think it's still pretty apparent and somewhat amusing that Apple is leading, with others playing catch-up, implementing what seem to be almost-reactionary changes in pursuit. I'd like to see Android manufacturers take the lead.

So what material is the back of the phone?

Textured metal or plastic? Or some rubber/leather/polycarb type of thing?

Looks just like all the other Galaxy phones, which is kinda disappointing. Some of the fake mock-ups looked much more impressive. But, as always, the hardware and screen specs are what will matter most.

I don't care much about how the phone looks, as I keep all my phones in cases. My biggest issue with the S5 is the size. I am not interested in anything larger than the S4 or the Nexus 5; the S5 is treading well into the Note territory and I'm not interested in a phablet. Of course, this is just my personal opinion. I know that the Note series has a rabid fanbase, but it's not for everyone. I'll be passing on this.

Agreed, as much as I don't like the back, that will not be the decision maker for me
Maybe this is the regular S5 and not the Prime one, which supposedly is supposed to be metal

Why make the phone any bigger? They already have the Note, and the Mega in the that category!!! They should of kept it the same size as the S4, which is a perfect size IMO... The S5 features, in a S4 casing would of been a win win in my book, but what can you do.
