Possible Picture Confirming 8/4?

It is most likely fake. We need to use the 2 week rule. They want to do pre-orders for this phone, so the August 4th is way too soon.

Most big phone releases have a 2 week pre-order time frame with Verizon.

No because the Droid 3 could be ordered online the 7th and in stores the 14th. That's only one week.

Why is it that Kellex can say he has a source that says 9/1 but doesn't give anything to back it up and everyone gets all upset abut more delays, but when someone shows something that says its coming sooner, everyone jumps on the "its fake" bandwagon. Trust me, I WANT it to be real. But with everything we have had so far, I do not want to put too much into it. Can only hold out for so long. I don't know how but I seem to keep pulling my OG Droid back from the grave (2 times no display, 3/4 times buttons not functioning, many times unresponsive LCD, etc...)

If this is real, this is really gonna throw a wrench into my thinking. Not even an hour ago I was saying I was gonna forget about the Bionic since it was releasing in September and just wait for the Nexus Prime. Now if it releases in two weeks, I'm going to have to make a tough decision.

I don't know about you, but I'll be up late on the 27th so I can preorder at midnight the 28th.

Maybe it's just the desperation talking, but I'm leaning towards this being more legit than not. I'm hopeful that the 8/4 release is going to come through with that date being when you can get it from a VZW corp store. I saw a comment from someone in another thread on here that really seemed to make sense - something to the effect that the "Targa" was originally slated for a Q3 release and since the "new Bionic" is what the Targa is being released as, Moto would have had to push up production to get it ready for the 8/4 launch. With what would likely be more limited quantities than they would like for a wide scale release, reserving the initial few weeks for VZW corp stores before making them available to other retail outlets (Sam's Club, Costco, Best Buy, other "authorized" retailers) would give them more time to get the supply built up for those stores, which would be pushing the date for those stores to have it into late August/early September (i.e. 9/1 release date speculation).

But just like the speculation about how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop - the world may never know.....

That is true. It was a very quiet release and had little interest though.

I mean it took like 2 weeks to get a professional review lol.

Ohhh the torture. I was all set to leave this phone in the dust with the recent Nexus Prime to VZW rumor. Decisions, decisions. I will definitely NOT pro-order and wait to get hands on to see if I should get it or wait for the Nexus.

The real memo from engadget has no (R) after Motorola or Xoom. The one in questions regarding the Bionic does have the (R)'s.

I'm calling "FAKE" until we have independent confirmation.....

Looks legit to enough to me. Could be wishful thinking on my part, but I really want to see this Aug 4th date be a reality.

Even more so now that I know LTE is coming to Omaha on the 18th.

Go Omaha Go! Waiting impatiently for the day I can walk in there, slap down cash and walk out with the Bionic.. and to hear that LTE is hitting Omaha soon after just is the icing on the cake.

Why would we assume there would be a 2 week pre-order? If anything, I'm thinking it'll be on sale via direct-fill a week before official store releases.
