hello I have been having slow mobile data speeds for a while and recently have found some supporting evidence that might indicate my phone was hacked( by ex, who i a am no longer with)
Phone is a a14 5G(or at least it should be)
I found some information in this file that is very fitting with the time frame and just would like someone with more knowledge than myself to explain if my theories are correct.

thank you for your time!

Welcome to Android Central! There's a whole lot of technical stuff in that text, none of which looks particularly unusual to my untrained eye. Is there a reason this technical information worries you?

Are you on 5G or 4G when you notice slow speeds? Are you able to compare with other devices on the same network?

Unless your ex is some kind of tech wiz, it's highly unlikely that he has any expertise to hack anyone to achieve this kind of disruption.

this is a very serious problem buddy. i recently bought a new phone because my screen broke on my last one. i did buy the same phone(a14 5g) and the moment i switched my number over to this new phone, it was the same thing!

I believe; and hear me out.... that she has the capability to control what i am experiencing. if she controls my network, and my email... she controls everything. i refuse to get rid of an email ive had for 15 years! im well aware of the possibility of back-door access.

sorry i read the wrong. well it says i had 5g at one point. then it says its no longer 5g enabled.
Before I automatically assumed hacking did you check with your service provider to see if they were having issues in your area. Hacking a modern Android phone is very difficult unless you give them access or they have NSA/FBI level tech. And even then, it's usually done by physically switching hardware

Well I slept next to her for 5 years so yeah. And I called straight talk about a dozen different times. 2 weeks ago I was on the phone with straight talk for an hour and a half before he gave up and said he couldn't fix my problem. Said he would call me back... never did.

And yeah i waited 6 months before posting about this so I would I say I gave it some thought.

Apologies for the gender confusion.

The first thing I would do is discuss this with Straight Talk. Maybe they need to replace your SIM card.

Also, try doing a Reset Network Settings.
Done this many times.

Brother, trust me when I say I did all of this. I've reinstalled stock firmware 3 times through Odin.

One thing you should never is underestimate a woman's intelligence.

Look at your screenshot again. In fact, look at the whole .txt file....There are different settings for different carriers.

If you go 2 lines down from you highlight, you'll see TRACFONE_VZW...if you go 11 lines down further, you'll see: fiveGEnabledDevice = true

Those should be settings per carrier. Further down the document you'll see:

DeviceManager.initCarrierDeviceInfoMap carrier = VERIZON
DeviceManager.initCarrierDeviceInfoMap carrier = TRACFONE_VZW
DeviceManager.initCarrierDeviceInfoMap carrier = CHARTER
DeviceManager.initCarrierDeviceInfoMap carrier = LRA
DeviceManager.initCarrierDeviceInfoMap carrier = COMCAST
DeviceManager.initCarrierDeviceInfoMap carrier = FLANKER
DeviceManager.initCarrierDeviceInfoMap carrier = ATT

Showing all the carriers this phone can be on.

Ok, so you've spoken to Straight Talk many times, and they've replaced the SIM card at least once?

Slow down... calm down.

If you truly believe this to be the case, next step is to get the police involved.
I'm inclined to agree, or at the very least, new phone, new Gmail account.

I did read this. Sometimes, the only way to free yourself from a hacker is to get new everything. Even a phone number. Because what you have to ask yourself is this: what is more important; an email address or your privacy and peace of mind?

Yes I have read that and understand that. However, my cause for concern is i am no longer in control of my apn settings. I have not seen my phone display the 5g icon in many months. when I try going into service mode via android dialer anything 5g is disabled. These are all things that I use to be able to do, control, and see.

Unfortunately, my ex is probably one of the smartest individuals I have ever met. If it's not her that is actually the one able to do this, then it is someone she knows.

I have also hooked my phone up to my computer and used ADB. I looked at all my settings and 5g is not possible on this phone according to what I have read.

The most amazing thing is, you would need root access to do anything like this to a phone. From my research, this phone is not able to be rooted. its a US model A14 5G.

This could be a network issue. Your nearby tower may not be transmitting on the band that you have for 5G. Samsung may have pushed an update that blocks the APN settings. Maybe even the carrier did?

Thats a possibility. How would I investigate that theory? I will not be too worried if I have to go an extreme route by getting a new phone, number, and all new accounts. This was phone was less than 100 dollars. Id rather spend my money on expensive computer parts than phones anyways.
