Just got my galaxy s8+ from Samsung, had a Nexus 6p until recently (beware the boot loop and projectfi support), and there was something there so sensical I assumed it was on everything. When an app put out notifications there was one tab per app that you could collapse or expand. I've dug through the manual, Google forums, app settings, notifications settings.. And I can't find it.
This is bad because I use instagram. I like to know when someone hit like (don't wanna turn that off). I'm not that popular but if i get 60 likes on a post (many get waaaay more) each comes in, one by one, each has to be closed individually... it's a pain. I just wanna know I need to check the app because something happened. Ditto for gmail, I don't need a notification per new email, just when it's state changed from 'you've seen new stuff' to 'There is new stuff ' (ideally with the notification showing the most recent things)
This isn't a wish list, just what my phone used to do, and what I need this one to do so I don't have to just disable notifications completely. So.. how?
