Possible virus that stops use of browser/antivirus.

Hi,

I have a Lenovo Lemon k3 note running android 4.4.4 Kitkat.
I have had it for about 6 months now, and it's been running pretty well. I switched from FireFox to Chrome yesterday but there seems to be an error, because every time I open Chrome, it immediately quits. I did some research and it seems like I might have some sort of virus, so I downloaded avast, but every time I run a scan it just quits. The phone has also been running pretty slow for the past week.
Does anyone know what this could be/know of a fix, if so, please get back asap.

It could be a virus - many are written to not allow antivirus programs to run. If Firefox is still running, that may be one solution. Another one is to completely back the phone up, except for the apps (you'll have to install each one from th ePlay Store to be sure that you're not backing up and installing the app with the virus), then reflash the ROM.

@Rukbat Okay, I did a complete Factory reset, and went through all the startup stuff, but once it was on the homescreen, there were about 7 apps, 4 with Chinese names, but one called hotoday and another called Maxxaudio and another called Browser, and their icons were just an android logo. I could remove all but one of the Chinese named ones. Not sure what's going on here..

And by the way I am the op.
