Possibly a future OnePlus 9 owner...

Alright Oneplus 9 Pro in the house. First impressions are good (which always is for any phone ).

Looking sharp

The free OnePlus Z Buds are decent as well. They sound alright and don't compare to airpods or the galaxy buds but they are super super comfortable to wear. Might be my go to podcasts listening buds on Android.

Also, I wish the free buds were black or white instead of this crazy colorful kids looking one

But didn't have option to choose other color when pre-order, no big deal anyway mostly using the buds at home. Will see if I'll use it for long or will be like Pixel buds sitting in the drawer and collecting dust.

Oh, man! Love the case! And I'm so envious!! Enjoy!
Thanks!! Generally go for their standard cases but saw this one and never had tried before. It's good and has a unique look. Feels good in the hand as well without adding much bulk.

Too expensive. They've priced themselves with the competition(higher priced when it comes to trade in offers). Only stand out feature is charging. Want to give OnePlus another shot since I've only had the 6T but nothing compelling with the price tag and lack of ecosystem thus far.

Agreed who'd have thought oneplus would one day be charging over a $1000 dollars for a phone. The whole point of OnePlus was bang for the buck. That time is now over for OnePlus.

Agreed. It's like google. I miss the nexus line and how cheap they kept it. Now it's pixel and prices are much higher.

Yep, and that's now why I've removed the OP9 from my list of possible replacements for my Note 8. Looking like I'll go with the S21U at this point.

Love that it is a unique case and that it's not too heavy! Super bulky cases are not my thing.

I've been a oneplus phone user since the 6t. Fantastic phones. I now have the 9 5g not the pro. It is such a great phone. It's not mind blowing but I don't think phones can really be mind blowing any more, but it does everything great. The 120hrtz refresh rate is amazing. And the fact oneplus doesn't add any bloatware to the phone is a big reason I went to them in the first place. Updates are pretty regular. I believe your promised 2 or 3 years of software updates. Hope this helps.

So glad you are loving your new phone so far! I agree that it's hard for phones to be mind-blowing nowadays - they're already so advanced!

How are you liking the camera on the 9? If I get a OP phone, it would be the 9. The Pro is too big and too much money.

It's the best one I've used so far. Perfect for what I use it for. Taking action shots of the kids or the dog. Plus I love the astral black. Fingerprints are non existent and getting the flat screen back is amazing.
Here's a shot of my invicta.

Wow! That's so awesome to hear - and see! That's a big plus (no pun intended) for me, because most of my shots consist of my cat, who is constantly moving. Thank you for the photo samples!

No problem! I actually just got a wireless charger from Amazon today cuz I'm pretty stoked that oneplus finally added it.

I just got a 9 pro and am a little torn, I have over the years owned a few OP devices including the 6, 7 pro and 8 pro and usually compared to say the current flagship Samsung I have preferred almost everything about the Oneplus but a few things like wireless charging, no always on display and a camera that just fell slightly short saw me ultimately think that a Samsung or Pixel was the better choice.

With the 9 pro I think this has flipped around this year in that I now prefer almost everything about the S21 Ultra I have over the 9 pro.

The Samsung IMO looks better, feels nicer in the hand, actually feels quicker in daily use has a quicker and better placed FPS (which also works right from the AOD screen) and has better overall battery life. The 9 pro though has IMO a better main camera in the circumstances I care about (less blurry photos of my kids and pets) has a better OS (very close now though) and has APTX-HD for better bluetooth audio on non-Sony headphones

So I think I prefer the OP9 Pro (just) but I am kind of missing the S21 Ultra too and am close to putting my sim back in that.

I completely agree with this, I enjoy using my S21 Ultra more than the OnePlus 9 Pro. I don't know something overall S21 Ultra has that extra, feels much nicer. Hard to explain lol.

I think especially for the price OnePlus 9 Pro is a tough sell compared to S21 Ultra in the US IMO. You have to really love Oxygen OS to pick this up.

Price increase and changes to Oxygen OS are factors too. Oxygen isn’t the slam dunk win vs. One UI that it once was.

I’d probably return it if I could but will hang in there I think. Hopefully an update or 2 will polish things a bit.

Yeah oneplus has "jumped the shark" IMO with the over $1000 dollar oneplus 9 pro. At lease Samsung has a great trade in program. Making the Ultra and even the s21 a much better value.

Yeah in the US just taking price into consideration, OnePlus can’t compete with Samsung with amazing trade in values. Lol I got the used S10e locally for around $270 just to trade in for $550 for the S21 Ultra. There only it’s $280 savings and add all the pre order goodies etc. I think it’s hard for any Android oem to compete with Samsung in the US in the premium segment.
