I've had the one plus 6 and 1+7p and I really like this company, security updates were like every 2 or 3 months after a year and OS updates slacked after 1 year compared to Samsung , but I think they get supported 3 years on OS and security.
But overall I like their OS and phones no question.
@Javier P can also chime in

I'm in same boat as OP. Want some info and came here for a thread on the 9/9 Pro. Currently still using my Note 8 (on Verizon) and have used only Samsung Note phones since the Note 2. Don't like the N20U so VERY seriously considering the OnePlus 9 Pro. I watched part of the launch video live this morning and from what I saw, it looks fantastic (of course, that's the whole purpose of the launch video).

Hopefully, they'll get a OnePlus 9 Pro thread up soon.

The 9 pro will get some feedback once it hits the market. I've got an 8p right now and couldn't imagine how it could be better. I moved to the 8p from a Samsung Note 20 ultra and this is light-years above and beyond it

I've never had a OnePlus phone before but have wanted one ever since the 5. Was just watching AC's review video of the 9 line today. Definitely interested. Will see how the camera fares.

I'm interested in the 9 thus far; but apparently it's not IP 68-rated? I'll have to see what the Canadian variants have to offer in that regard. Apparently T-Mobile *will* have a 9 that's rated as such, so maybe it'll be the same for Canadian models. One can only hope.

I wish I could upgrade now. I’m currently on the iPhone 12 Pro and am itching to go back. The 8 pro is only $699 in the us. It’s very tempting but I owe $800 on my phone. So it’s pretty much a no for me. I’ve only had it for a little less than 5 months. I watched part of the 9 and 9 pro event on YouTube today. Also it’s not going to work on Verizon right away. It’s still being certified.

Too expensive. They've priced themselves with the competition(higher priced when it comes to trade in offers). Only stand out feature is charging. Want to give OnePlus another shot since I've only had the 6T but nothing compelling with the price tag and lack of ecosystem thus far.

Everyone considering a One Plus 9 Pro should go listen to this episode of All About Android. In the first 45-50 minutes they discuss the 9 Pro.

Jason Howell’s first impressions of the camera aren’t good.

Good show. I'm not getting a 9 but for some reason cameras aren't ever a factor for me. Idk, I've just never cared too much about it. But for those who do love it, I also recommend it.

I watch most of the twit.tv podcasts on YouTube. Saw that episode earlier today. He is doing a full.comparison between the OP8 pro and the OP9 pro on Hands on Tech podcast. Details at www.twit.tv/hot

It’s pretty funny that people are already calling it the best Android smartphone out there now. Some or most are being paid to say positive things about it. I most look forward to the real honest reviews of it. They’ve always fallen behind the competition in the camera dept. Why should we expect them to suddenly pull ahead just with the Hasselblad branding?

I so freaking agree. You can tell by certain video reviews on youtube. It's so shady the way certain influences and reviewers are for money. It's rare to find a REAL genuine reviewer.

Unfortunately that’s the world we live in now. I always enjoy listening to and watching Juan Carlos Bagnell. He obviously has some biases but he’s always up front and honest if something is crap or just not worth it. He’s a big proponent of buying mid range phones for the majority of people. Unfortunately we buy into the idea that buying a $1000+ device is suddenly going to make us professional photographers or gamers. Or whatever else we use our phone for. I’m guilty of believing that. The carriers don’t make it easy either by offering trade in and upgrade discounts on the high end phones making us think we are getting our money’s worth. Obviously they are making deals with the manufacturers to offer those discounts and they aren’t losing any money in the transaction.

Alright Oneplus 9 Pro in the house. First impressions are good (which always is for any phone ).
