Hey guys, I'm new to the world of android and today I tried to flash a ROM for the first time, with horrible results. I successfully rooted my phone while following this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ht...ot-rom-your-htc-evo-v-4g-htcdev-fastboot.html

but when I tried to flash the CM10 "Gagnam Style" so I could get JB running, my phone seems to have gotten stuck in a bootloop. I have a nandroid backup and i've already tried to clear the cache but to no avail. Whenever I try to flash the ROM, the stock HTC boot screen appears, then the CM bootscreen appears and then the phone shuts off and the whole ~15 second cycle starts over again. At this point, I would like to get the phone back to factory settings but i'm not sure exactly how to go about doing so, can anyone help? Thanks a bunch in advance.

when you get the evo to the hboot screen does it say s-on or s-off? if its s-off then you can just rename a RUU file for the evo to the file name it needs (i forget what it is at the moment. google it) and hboot will automatically restore your phone to factory. you'll lose root though. but you can reroot it

Flash something else. When you flashed CM10 onto it, you destroyed the factory install.

It's one thing people need to realise when they rom their phone... you're deleting what's on there to put something else in its place. This is why you need to make a recovery image of your existing stock rom before you put something else on it.

Download Harmonia and give that a try instead.
