Yeah, not super likely that he'll give it to you, but he'll definitely know how to do it... We can hope.
What you could ask is when they're thinking 2.1 will be released. I know VZW is testing the crap out of it, but it doesn't hurt to ask that now that we can't get the newest system dump. I'm kind of expecting a "Q1, bro!" answer.

I asked him that over the weekend, and it was pretty much a "whenever Verizon decides to release it" answer. In other words, he made it seem like it was completely out of Moto's hands now. I mean, bravo Verizon for wanting to release a solid update to its customers, but sometimes their testing process is ridiculous. They STILL haven't released an official 5.0 for the BB Tour....and you can't tell me that it's still in the "testing process." I mean testing is important...but when a company makes a good product to begin with, it shouldn't take THAT long. Although, i use the term "good" loosely when it comes to BB OSes. That's why I own a Droid.

Its good. Browser is a little slower than the milestone port. If anyone was looking for a speed increase in the browser. Well, it ain't happening.

Well, 30 days. Last countdown update, promise. I'm sure you can all use simple arithmetic to determine the number of days until the 31st of March. Fridays are gonna be exciting, though. Possibility of a 2.1 update with every one. Only 4 of those left. Unless, on March 30, Verizon tells us "first half of 2010". People would go crazy.If the 2.1 upgrade isn't available on Droid by the time Nexus One comes to Verizon, I'm giving serious thought to selling the droid for a N1.
If your planning on selling your droid I wouldn't sell it for a nexus 1. I'm waiting to see what phones come out in the 2nd half. I want to see the phones with the new qualcom chips. Those phones will make the nexus 1 look like the hero is to the droid now. At this point I am content with my droid and don't see the nexus 1 being a huge upgrade. Whoever sells their droid now for a nexus 1 will just regret no waiting or waste more money when they get the newer phone. People need to relax with phones upgrades. There will always be something bitter and better and people who constantly buy the newer versions will just end up with less money in the end. I can wait for the 2.1 upgrade. Its not gonna make or break the droid at this point. Either root your droid or stop complaining and just wait for the official 2.1 upgrade. At least you have options.
Saw this at alldroid. Doesn't look good at all. On the bright side someone has the ESE53 sbf file and might leak it.

As we all very well know these are not true.
Moto/VZW already said before end of Q1.

Trust me I hope its not true either. But I seen this happen before with my storm.We were suppose to get an update during a time frame only for VZW to have fail it because they found a bug at the last minute.
Thankfully we aren't running that God-awful excuse for an OS like the storm was.
I am very certain VZW has already passed it. Its just a matter of getting their servers ready to upload it to the masses (thats why eris owners will probably have to do it in store because the update from 1.5-2.1 is MASSIVE. Far too large for the servers).
Thats a lot of data to push for over a million people. Or is it two million now? Lots of Droid owners out there!
Yes, but that doesn't mean that Verizon can't still find a bug and delay release.

I think mr russelll might be correct that ese53 file is new,how ever it is not perfect but its so much better and smoother to run than but its so much better and smoother to run than those other homemade roms out there. anyone else using the ese53? I like the new gallery and interactive live wallpapers. plus I like the improved call quality.theres a few unseen fixes thats in it oo that keeps ioo that keeps it more stable and run faster and smoother
