Note how the Droid isn't listed as Q1 2010, but instead "soon". That would probably mean that we're literally getting it "soon". Otherwise, it would say Q1 2010 like the European version.

They said they jumped the gun and they have some Mobile World Congress this coming week and maybe they were thinking of announcing it there, ya never know. LOL It sounds like I am announcing that they are just putting a carrot in front of you to keep going but keeping this carrot out of our reach doesn't seem fair so I am hoping that they really do announce it then to make everyone happy!

Once we have had time to play with the new, we'll want the next update! LOL

Here is where I got the info in the second paragraph but it doesn't say anything about the update but about them attending this congress thingy so I am just hoping that is when they officially announce it to the world! LOL

First of all this update is so not worthy of any announcement in any way. Don't count on it to be at a conference - it will be pushed out silently.

Second of all I don't think Motorola or Verizon care at all about rooted phones. If they brick they don't care if they don't they don't care. They are more worried about the 99.9% of people who didn't root.

If you are rooted and flashed to another rom with a different recovery, wont that block you from getting pushed the update anyways?

I cant imagine many people who root their devices dont also flash to a new rom, so there isnt that much to worry about.

I suppose it would be nice not to totally lose my Voice Search, function for no reason at all, like I did on my rooted phone. Still, I'm ready for a major release, like 3.0, instead of a point release like 2.1

The overall feel is just slow to me in comparison to what I have seenwith Bugless Beauty and the current AdamZ rom that I am on.

Maybe its just me.
