I tried ese53 last night after loading ere29. All I will say is that, DM is way better for now.

As we all very well know these are not true.

Moto/VZW already said before end of Q1.

Please try not to fuel the crazy fire.

I believe it. I would not put it past VZW to start rolling it out on the 27th.

I doubt the average Droid owner cares whether the update comes out today, 3 weeks from now, or 2 months from now. I have 3 Droid friends who never had any idea that an update was on it's way until I told them about it. They are all fine with the way the Droid is now. Those of us who monitor these threads daily for the latest leaks & rumors are a niche group. And as far as Verizon is concerned, they have always been big on quality over rushing something out the door. They probably found - what they deem - to be significant bugs in the latest releases, and refuse to let it out the door until they are fixed.

c'mon! When has a big big company promised something within a 6 month window, and released that something when the 6 months is pretty much over?

Despite what some might think, I rather do care about the update, and would be rather disappointed to not have it by the end of the month.

Yes. Verizon is a very conservative company, they'd much rather delay releases than pay their techs to answer questions about easy-to-fix bugs.

Makes business sense, for sure.

Well I a still follow this thread just to see when the 2.1 update drops. I haven't really much interest in getting it anymore, I mean, we already have just about everything that was promised (and then some) with ROM's, right?

Except for a non-buggy 2.1 launcher. For that reason mainly (5+ screens being the second reason), I would go back to stock for the 2.1 update.

The launcher2 isn't all what people make it seem. I use the stock launcher with 5 screens. It's perfect for me.
The only thing i would like to see is to interact with the live wallpapers via the stock launcher, not some 3rd party launcher or a buggy one.

The MAIN thing I am waiting for is 5 home screens. I'm not big on homescreen replacements and I'm pretty happy with stock 2.0.1.

I would if I could. I had it in my hands for over 30 minutes (not installed in my phone). I was not all that impressed. Put it this way, I rerooted and reinstalled DM right after.

who cares about an official 2.1 anymore? i'm more excited about a fully functional Sense UI getting ported to the Droid because it will be a complete 2.1 ROM with Sense and Flash.

Tbh, that's what I'm most excited about, too. Got that forum post open in a window 24/7. Shouldn't be too long before it's done once they fix those issues.

Especially with the bounty that's on the completion of the sense UI.
