I know about as well as you know how to read and know who said what.

I never said how long it should, or shouldn't take. I'm perfectly content with my own custom setup.

Its really funny... People are saying that some are going to leave VZW and Moto because of this... Those people are what... 1% of Verizons total customer base? Oh no 1% of their profit gone its the end of Verizon . Most of the people that own a phone on Verizon let alone a Droid have no clue about this update.

It is a much smaller percentage than that.

I honestly think there's been enough publicity to a point where 30% of Droid owners, if not more, know about the 2.1 update.

I think you are kidding yourself. Most phone/smartphone owners are not geeks/nerds that populate message boards.

How many droids are in the public right now? I dont know, I know they did around 500000 the first month, this message board is almost 12000 users, that is two percent, and if you think the rest of the public knows or cares you are crazy.

the only reason the general public hops on these boards is if they have technical problems.

i think droid owner (not all but the majority of them) have an idea that there is an update coming out especially if you have ever spoken to a vzw rep. about how often they have somebody asking when the new update is coming. i think the people out of the loop are the droid eris owners. that is the more easily affordable android handset and most people will take that because the only difference they see between the eris and the droid are the keyboard and no sense UI. me being rooted with a 2.1 rom, im not so eager to get the new update. i mean i would like to see what it will do with newer roms and wouldn't mind trying out the official update but i can wait if i have too. I know where people are coming from when they say they don't want to root and they want to stay with official releases but if the update does not come out, you still have options. but i do hope that people who bought the droid did not buy it purely on the idea of getting 2.1. The phone is a beast even with 2.0.1 and it can handle a decent amount without many stutters.

i kind of feel that the fun of waiting for releases is getting over shadowed by people arguing about thing that at this moment are not necessary. By arguing you about this stuff it is not going to make the release come any sooner.

on a side note did you hear how the droid's 2.1 update fries all iphones within a 2 mile radius.... ahaha

oh and 'CHRISDAZZO' i just read your sig. and i am shaking my head in disappointment. Droid until VZW gets an iphone 3GS????? that is an imediate BANNNNNNNN !!!!!!!

haha jk but come one an iphone 3GS? how about even an iphone 4G or somthing? haha

Daylight Savings Time? Why not Upgrade Time, Too?

With Daylight Savings Time coming to North America this weekend (execpt, of course, for you ornery Arizona folks), it might be a good time to drop an update, too, ya think?

After all, we will all be adjusting this weekend, anyway.

Of course, this is the same basis for beliving that because Daylight Savings Time is coming we can achieve peace in the Middle East and wipe out world hunger.

I also believe it's a good time for Ovaltine to send me that Captain Midnight mug I sent away for in 1954.....

i stay away for a few days and i dont see 2.1? i am on here 24 hrs a day and i dont see 2.1.....what do i do? well, first off, i dont care because im happy with droidmod. second, i dont believe that 2.1 is coming to the redheaded stepchild known as stock droid. so it doesnt matter anymore. what terrible marketing skills moto and verizon have. i wont visit this thread again until march 23rd when i get my n1. ahhhh that felt goooood.lol
