This makes it sound as if they have continuously said that an update is coming. They have not; they have said, in no uncertain terms, that an update is coming. Each company said - one in December, one in January - that it was coming in Q1. That was probably the only mistake that they made - they should have said that it was targeted for Q1, rather than implying a hard deadline.

Until they announce that they have changed their minds and cannot provide an update, I'll just wait faithfully until the have it working correctly. 1.5 continues to work fine for me for the things that I absolutely need (phone, SMS, email, PIM and web browsing). Everything else is gravy.

and us people running the leak have seen improvements in it from the first one. Just the other week on the second leak the HTC get more widgets button started working which is def. a good sign that they are making progress on it

true, the sense iu is great it works apps i choose are great but they only thing.....the youtube app but i watch some on the mobile website which is fine.

I'm going to hate to return my eris tho that's for sure because i do love it. I just want the motorola droid too and can't afford to keep both of them. i just hope verizon does not catch onto how i have installed the leak before i return it lol but it hasnt been 30 days yet so i'm pretty sure they will take it back no questions asked

I'm not sure if it's a 2.1 issue or an error with the MyBackup app. I'm thinking it's the latter but I figured I'd post it here.

For some reason my eris is having a problem syncing my contacts from google. All of my contacts say "Un-named in the app but if I use an app like Fastcall they're all there. I can't seem to figure it out. I recently screwed something up on my phone and tried the Mybackup app to restore it so I'm not sure if that's what's causing the problem.

I use fastcall to look through my contacts so it took me a while to notice it. Any ideas?

I'm currently a BB user, and hate it. I want to go switch to an Eris today to play around with it for a while and get used to it before the Incredible hopefully launches in the next few weeks. When it releases I'm planning on taking the Eris back and swapping it for the Incredible since I'll still be in the 30 day trial window. Now my question: If I root my Eris and put 2.1 on it, it voids the warranty right? Is there a way to revert everything back to factory default when I'm done with the Eris and ready to return it?

I think if you root the phone and upgrade to 2.1 that way, you can downgrade. If you don't root and upgrade using the LEAKED 2.1 you're stuck with the phone. Verizon won't swap it out.

end of life doesn't mean they're going to drop all support for the phones, i have my doubts we'll see 2.1 before the incredible launches

As long as you are in the 30 day window you can return the phone and trade it in on an identical phone. But you do not need to root the phone to have the Android experience. Just keep it at 1.5 and then when you get the Incredible you will be so much happier...
