I gave up waiting and rooted my eris yesterday with the new 2.1 "ota" build
LOVING it so far.

It's not that hard. It's on XDA's website. They have a tutorial and everything. All though that's to root it. I rooted mine last night and it went smoothly.

I doubt they'll push it out before April 1st. I mean there's always hope, but I mean you never know with Verizon. We've got 3 days still...

FYI, when I was looking for more official Verizon 2.1 update stuff, I came across several HTC Eris listings on Craigslist for Eris phones that had been upgraded to the 2.1. I'm not sure how well they sell on Craigslist vs Ebay, but if you do sell your phone, you might want to double-list on both sites. Just a thought...

i dont know i saw on ebay for 200-260 and moto droid for 300-370 both used

If I remember, the Eris phones I saw on Craigslist were maybe 200 for one and 300 for the other. Both had been upgraded to the 2.1, and the sellers highlighted that. From what I've learned here at the forums, I'm sure they were the leak ROMs, but that wasn't specified.

the htc incredible is coming, and it's amazing. that's my next phone. supposed to be here between now and end of april i think, it's still in testing.

what's the baseband version on the newer leak?

My Baseband version is showing as 2.41.04.02.02 on the second leak.
