well I just talked to a HTC customer service rep and he said that they got a notice in today that verizon has pushed the update back to be released at the end of april. He said it was supposed to start coming out OTA last Friday but for some reason they feel the need to f*ck with us untill the end of april so I dont know guys but this sucks

I presume its because they (VZW) dont wanna over-shadow a higher selling phone by giving the lil ol eris 2.1 first. http://www.androidcentral.com/when-will-i-get-my-droid-update-do-math So I'd expect atleast a full week after the entire roll out of moto's update prolly last week of april but more likely the first two weeks of may jmho

i found someone to update my phone for me. what's the newest version of the leak? can someone post a link for me please..... and how is it are people having any problems with the leak? i am a little sketchy about installing it into my phone but i can't wait

It's going to take at least a week for the Droid update to go out to all users.

I have a suggestion: assume that this update will be delivered by June 30. Be pleasantly surprised if it comes earlier. If you simply cannot wait, install the leaked or rooted ROM. You'll all be collectively less stressed.

You guys should just load the latest leak, 2.1 is awesome and i havent found any bugs yet! (knock on wood) plus when the offical version comes out you can istall it the same way

Hopefully now that the droid update has came out we will see something soon. I purchased this phone under the impression that i would be able to upgrade soon. If the upgrade does not come out by the time that the incredible comes out i am going to have no choice but to get that phone. Maybe even the n1 but this def sucks for us eris owners

@crackmonkey is there a step by step guide for installing that update from stock 1.5? Ive seen guides for the rooted 2.1 but i am new to this n i dont know if the steps are different

I emailed HTC since verizon keeps pointing the finger to them about the update. This was the response that I got from one of the reps. I was not very nice in the email

I understand how important it is for you to have all of the available information about upcoming software updates for your device. Verizon Wireless has confirmed that the Verizon Wireless DROID ERIS by HTC will receive the Android 2.1 (?clair) update. The Update will be available within the first six months of this year, very possibly within the next few weeks. The release date is dependent upon carrier testing and certification. The Update will be pushed OTA (Over The Air) by Verizon Wireless, OTA updates can take time to be pushed to each individual device so even once the update is released it may be a few days before you see a notification on your device.

Of course first it was the ****ing first quarter of 2010 and now it's the first six months. I doubt we will see it by the end of April but I am def hoping so

I also just got off the phone with PCD and they said it is in the approval process and should be done very soon. Lets hope this is true the rep said we will def have it by the end of april

Its simple to do it all you do is downlad the the file but it on the micro sd then turn off your phone, when off press and hold both the send and the end it should take you to the hboot
its pretty simple to do it
