I just spoke with a sprint rep about picture mail issue on my Hero and she said it is a known problem and they are working on it. I then asked when the Sprint Hero update to 2.1 was being released. She told me on Friday!!! I hope she was not just trying to get me off the phone!!!
Hopefully it will fix this picture mail issue

the 2.1 update increases mms to 2mb from 1mb. Thats how it is on my leaked ROM

The Cellular South Hero is essentially the same as the Sprint version (CDMA), except it has different software included. But because Sprint's may release soon, that doesn't mean other Carriers are as close as each Carrier usually does the R and D (at least on subsidized phones). This is why the N1 updates faster, it has no company forcing the R and D other than just Google.

several close friends work for cellular south and they told me it would be june before 2.1 is rolled out to us android users. now beleive what you want but one rep hasn't lied to me yet... thats my only beef with cell south is they are so far behind but they do put out good products so flip a coin.

I'm with you. I am tired of the waiting. However, I won't be going back to my BlackBerry. I'm pissed off, but not that pissed. I will stick it out with the Hero until I am satisfied with an update.

I'm starting to think that there don't be an update this week. If there was an update scheduled for the 16th, there would have been some news about it already this week. Looks like we will still be waiting for at least a few more weeks. Let's see if the April 26th date holds up. That's my birthday so I am hoping I get a present from Sprint on that day. We will see.

It appears that it prob won't be tomorrow if this was Sprint's Tweet from Last night...

Even the leak isn't ready for prime time... it has it quirks, but very minor. The only one that affects me is double tapping menu to unlock brings up the menu on the home screen after it unlocks. Its minor, but I can imagine they would get a flurry of nasty calls about it. Another one is that some have experienced audio cut outs. It affects a small amount of phones, but another big deal when it comes to them having to deal with the calls. Someone has made a patch, but disables the trackball light, which would also piss off a certain few. Considering when the leak was put out, I think we are soon, but probably not just there. April 16th would be ambitious, and I hope they have it by then, I just don't see it.
