I don't recall from previous years but has the shipping date actually moved up on your order or does it just ship out early? Meaning right now mine says ships Nov. 6th, so would it change the date to say Oct. 30th or would I just get a shipping notice early? Wondering how last year worked out.

i'm pretty sure for me in 2015, my 6P just shipped a week earlier than the site/email had said. Hoping that might be true again because waiting a full 50 days is kinda rough.

When previous year's phones shipped early, I only recall the status changing to "shipped." I don't remember the estimated shipping date ever changing prior to that.

Yeah the estimated date is not going to change, it'll just ship early which most likely is the case for most orders which are estimated few weeks away. They probably are giving conservative estimates and may ship at least few days early is my guess.

Who did you order from? I'm a little surprised that you ordered 2 days after the release event and still got an October ship date, considering how many people who ordered white XLs on the 4th got late November dates.

I'm wondering if the distribution of the different colors was just chaotic or if someone (ahem... Verizon, the de facto supplier of kinda-blue Pixel 2s) claimed the lion's share of white XLs for itself.

[Or the nicer way to put that: Verizon is just better at handling inventory than Google is. And who would doubt that?]

Clearly just black seems to be shipping much earlier. That's why I switched to black from white. Just couldn't see wating 4 weeks longer just because of a color.

It's kind of odd that the Panda is so far behind the black XL. Did they really not anticipate that the special new color would sell much better than black? Or is it somehow harder to manufacture?

The black is probably much easier to manufacture. I don't know if it sold better than the black one. Since it's probably harder to manufacture they made less of those. My ship date is Tuesday 17. So it can't come quick enough.

They always make the unusual limited... It was impossible to get really blue last year. It's so people will talk about it. If nobody can get a black/white... It will be unique.

You are making a giant assumption that they produced an equal amount of each color. I'd bet they didn't. Without production and or sales figures we have no idea whether or not the panda is out-selling the all black.

I have the same ship date with zero movement since preorder. I think the only way it might change is after the 17th I think is the first ship date for preorders so we will see
