Based on your shots on this page I think the public/reviewers may have overreacted on the camera.

I think it takes nice photos. Not great but not everyone needs high grade photos. I think the camera will do it for me. Now I'm torn between this and the G4.

Playing around with the closeup settings, the three pictures are portrait, macro, and auto, -1 sharpness.

Up close, I like the way macro focused on the yellow bits best, but macro has good detail up close too.

Food! I left sharpness down one point, but I've started taking pics with saturation up half a tick. Pretty nice result, I think. These are untouched.

Pretty nice picture in a dark restaurant. I have 5.1 with T-Mobile, so I would say dark pics have gotten better.

Edit: I didn't use the flash.
