Post Photos Taken With Your M9!

Macro is possible as long as you have a direct light source and some time to play around with it.

I've yet to get a decent macro shot. My Rezound was so much better for macro.

I don't even use macro mode per se. I just use auto mode close up. Mind you, you need great lighting for the best results but the detail and focus has been very good for me. I've been messing around with Camera FV-5 and been happy with it as well. Seems to focus WAY better images than the native camera. I have much less blur when I just want to take a quick snapshot.

Check the post above you. I finally got a good shot, but the point is that my Rezound was just tap the screen to focus and everything else was perfect even in low light conditions. The M9 requires playing around with some settings and a direct light source to accomplish the same thing.

I know what you wrote and I have never heard of the Rezound but I like the M9 close ups I've seen and taken. I know it's limitations though.

The Rezound is a 3 year old HTC phone. If they were able to make it work so well back then, I find it strange that they can no longer get it on their flagship 3 years later.

Bud, I had a M7 with OIS and two years later I buy a newer version of the phone that is thicker, taller, heavier and still can't seem to squeeze it in and has the same screen (perhaps inferior without panel refresh). You are preaching to the choir here.

This M9-taken photo (as homescreen on a Nexus 9) has been processed by the standard Google tools, zoomed and cropped but I love how it feels like a studio staging.

The Rezound had a few different names. It came out when carriers still changed names of phones to try and differentiate them from other carriers.

No arguing that. Would have hope to see it comparable to the 6. :(

I've found day shots to be comparable and in some cases better than my iPhone 6 even in auto. I've yet to nail night shots that are good. Still tweaking settings and stuff though. I'm determined to figure it out.

That's where I have trouble too. As you can see it's possible, but once you add in light sources (such as street lamps), things start to go south.

I saw you post that somewhere else. I'm gonna try that next.

I was at a bar last night watching the fight. I took a regular shot and then an HDR one. I wish I knew about it the other times I went out. It is way too dark without HDR. You have to hold it more still but I don't even bother shooting in bad lighting without it on anymore.

Here's some night testing. All without flash with a facing light source.

Just curious why you went negative on the EV? That would only make the scene darker.

Having used the S6 as well, there is no contest. The M9's camera is not even in the same league. Daylight shots has the potential to be good, but getting the right exposure is tricky with HTC's camera app. But Night/lowlight shots are just not good. I think MKBHD's review pretty much sums it up for me.
