I've yet to get a decent macro shot. My Rezound was so much better for macro.
I don't even use macro mode per se. I just use auto mode close up. Mind you, you need great lighting for the best results but the detail and focus has been very good for me. I've been messing around with Camera FV-5 and been happy with it as well. Seems to focus WAY better images than the native camera. I have much less blur when I just want to take a quick snapshot.
Check the post above you. I finally got a good shot, but the point is that my Rezound was just tap the screen to focus and everything else was perfect even in low light conditions. The M9 requires playing around with some settings and a direct light source to accomplish the same thing.
Here's where the M9 fails miserably. Granted these are literally no light photos, but still.

I know what you wrote and I have never heard of the Rezound but I like the M9 close ups I've seen and taken. I know it's limitations though.
The Rezound is a 3 year old HTC phone. If they were able to make it work so well back then, I find it strange that they can no longer get it on their flagship 3 years later.

No arguing that. Would have hope to see it comparable to the 6.![]()
That's where I have trouble too. As you can see it's possible, but once you add in light sources (such as street lamps), things start to go south.I've found day shots to be comparable and in some cases better than my iPhone 6 even in auto. I've yet to nail night shots that are good. Still tweaking settings and stuff though. I'm determined to figure it out.

Have you tried shooting in HDR mode at night time with ISO200 setting.

I saw you post that somewhere else. I'm gonna try that next.
No, but I'll try it. I usually have it on auto with ISO400
