So I've scrolled through the whole thread and am still unsure of the camera. Photos during the day with a lot of natural light come out well. The second you step into a shadow you can forget about it being a good image.
Has the update truly made a world of a difference?
What if I use Google Camera instead of the Motorola Camera, would that be better?
I know it's mid 2014 but I'm deciding between the Moto X and the S3 as my next phone. Before you say that the S3 is far worse and is 2 years old now, it, along with the Moto X does everything I need to do perfectly fine. Texting, calling, web browsing, and playing music. I'm sure an S3 can handle that with no lag. The ergonomics are wonderful on the Moto X and I hate using big phones (the S3 is as big as I'm willing to go) but the camera is a selling point. Which camera is better, this or the S3?

I have an iPhone 4S and have been wanting to switch to the Moto X. I really like so much about it but was worried about the photo quality. These pics have helped me make my choice. There are some really good ones. Thanks for posting them.

Took this the other night after getting ice cream at the local shop. They had some crazy lighting going on, and it makes the picture look like it is day time. It was about 10PM. Moto X camera with no effects or editing other than a resize on my Mac.
