Post pictures taken with the Moto X (1st gen) here

Re: Post pictures taken with Motorola X here

Two pics: one with HDR and one without, taken at the same place a few seconds apart (bottom one is HDR)

Re: Post pictures taken with Motorola X here

I've tried occasionally photographing my children with the iPhone5, but never got results like this. I was standing up, 'twist-twist', then reached down before the moment passed, no framing or even looking at the screen, then touched the screen blindly and this ones a 'keeper':

Very impressed with the Moto X!

Re: Post pictures taken with Motorola X here

I may be the first Moto X user living in China who posts here... (yay?). T-Mobile Developer Edition, post-camera update. I gotta say, I am really disappointed w/ the camera's utter inability to find the correct white balance, or to overcome backlit situations (couldn't they add face recognition and make sure they expose the faces properly?!) And dynamic range isn't the best (e.g. in layman terms, the ability to show detail in shadows)

Anyway, this is my first morning with the phone, while driving to work. Note how everything is just ... BROWN. Shanghai can get polluted, but on this day it was most definitely not. My windshield was nice and clean.

I used Aperture and did ONLY color-correct based on my memory. This corrected version matches my memory and just looks "right". Not there is still flattened dynamic range, but the sky, cars, and everything is the proper color... lighting really was flat that day.

I see a brownish tint to almost every picture I take. Also, the "touch-to-focus" feature only seems to focus on the spot, but doesn't meter there. so I have lots of pictures of very sharp silhouettes of people. And touch-to-focus is horribly slow at snapping pictures of moving subjects (like my 3 year old daughter). I've ended up going back to touch-anywhere cuz at least the shutter is close to instantaneous.

All in all... I love the Quick Capture gesture. But Motorola desperately needs to come up with another MAJOR software fix to address the camera's white balance and backlight compensation issues.

I agree with the last post. The backlight situation is a problem. The built in camera in my Galaxy S2 had an excellent backlight option and produced nice photos in fairly bright backlight situations

Grrrr ... AndroidCentral's image uploader is really buggy - I can't seem to upload the correct pics after 5 tries! =P

Re: Post pictures taken with Motorola X here

Since the update this camera has definitely become a contender with Samsung and HTC. Really enjoy all of your great photos.

Re: Motorola X

^^^I agree..that's pretty good. I find the MotoX camera does fairly well indoors with no flash

Something new to review.

Re: Post pictures taken with Motorola X here

Absolutely untouched. Took 2 back to back to make sure there is no fluke. Almost looks like b&w.
