Re: Camera

Yes pretty much

The moto x play does not support the new Google Camera APIs for manual controls so unfortunately the 'Manual Camera' app will not work

but pretty much all others will

Re: Camera

I seem to be struggling with the stock moto camera. Just not intuitive.

I do notice a fair bit of chromatic aberration (purple-fringing) at times, but it's still a good camera overall (zoom in on my photo above and you'll see it on the turn signs on the streetlight).

That said from a resolution standpoint, the 21mp sensor lets you crop a fair bit while maintaining good quality if needed.

The second Image is cropped - still captured detail from the distorted reflections in the glass on few building.

Is there any difference between 16:9 and 4:3 in terms of quality? Haven't been able to test the camera yet.

HDR auto and heavy crop to see the level of detail.

I still wish to see a MXPE vs MXP camera rumble! It just seems to me that the X Play takes better pictures than the X Pure, despite people saying the image processing should be better on a better processor.

Well these were just previews long ago.

X Play:

X Style:

X Play exhibits better colour (saturation) and detail, but its photo looks more noisy. That's why more side by side shots are needed.

Is it just me or is this phone horrible for motion pictures? Is there a setting I am missing?

Jumping motions shud be able to look good without super fast shutter speed. Since when we jump, there is theoretically an instance where we stop at the top before falling back down. So are objects thrown high up. People/vehicles constantly walking/moving etc. , on the other hand, should be blurred out.
