Great pics! Was that last pic of your daughter done in selective focus mode to blur the background, or just in auto mode tapping on her head to focus on that particular point?

Thanks. Actually I took this in pro mode and selected her face as focus point. I then used the lens blur filter in photoshop to add the background blur.
 
Taking pic inside the car in the dark works so much better with pro mode than auto.

After seeing the excellent play Hamilton this weekend, I was tempted walk around and take a few shots of Washington monuments during my lunch hour today. We have a hurricane making its way up the east coast in the US, so it was a cloudy, dreary day.

I just happened upon this butterfly yesterday and took a few quick shots while I had the chance.

I'm impressed with how well the texture of the leaves came out, very clear. The focal depth is nice in both the closeups and the more distant shots. Background has blur on the close shots and is more in focus on the more distant ones.
