Post Pictures Taken With Your Note 9

Couple of shots my son took while I was driving. Not too bad from a moving car and through a dirty front windshield LOL

After setting camera to max MPs and playing with some settings, I am seeing a difference (for the better).
Think I prefer to keep scene optimizer and Tracking AF off...

Edit: don't ask me why I insist on taking pics of the back of my dog's head LOL

These are a few of the toys I get to work around every day. The reds are typically very difficult to reproduce, but the Note 9 has done a very good job here. All are shot in Auto mode and the lighting is LED with added sky light panels. However, it was very cloudy, so mostly LED. I was in a bit of a rush today but I'll try to get a few more artistic shots when I have more time. No post processing. 20180906_162245.jpg20180906_162419.jpg20180906_162438.jpg20180906_162433.jpg20180906_162349.jpg20180906_162343.jpg20180906_162316.jpg20180906_162307.jpg20180906_162159.jpg

Probably if you were in front he wouldnt sit still? Lol
Haha, perhaps!

Unfortunately, the settings tweaks haven't seemed to solve the issue. Still getting a hazy/blur/halo type affect in certain situations. While it's not too bad in these pics, it is present.
Maybe I got a dud? Or perhaps it's just me and my personal preference (or just being a picky PITA LOL)

So, comparing the low light capabilities between Note 9 camera and P20 Pro, do you guys think Samsung need to push its flagship cameras to a higher level? Somehow, I find the low light photos from Note 9 is not a big deal anymore after seeing how Huawei can do with the camera Night mode.

while the p20 pros low light shots are awsome I found the auto mode to be over oversaturated and blown out... I sold mine!!

ill take the note 9 camera anyday!!

One thing to try when lighting is not great is to use Pro mode, select 1.5 aperture, auto shutter speed, and ISO of about 160. (these settings will stick for the next time you select Pro mode). I've found I get better results using these settings when lighting is not great and subject is relatively still. If there is a lot of motion you are better off with Auto mode or a higher ISO in Pro mode.

The Auto mode seems to not choose the 1.5 aperture unless light is really low. Also Auto mode tends to select a shutter speed that is too fast, in my opinion, but that is a design choice Samsung made that I understand. As a result of these, Auto mode will tend to have less detail in low light (assuming there is little motion in the image).
