Post your 4G speeds

Except LTE isn't 4G. LTE Advanced is. They're two different things.HSPA+ and LTE are comparable right now, and not too much different.

Completely not. I get 18 down and 12 up...75 ping. You guys get below 10 it seems mostly so yah big difference when your streaming movies, etc.

Really? I'm pushing 40 mbps DL on my Charge and 7ish up. I haven't seen near that on either sensation i've tried.
Trying to decide if i wanna make the switch. Sensation is an amazing device. Absolutely love it. But not sure I can give up verizon LTE

I wasn't talking about speeds on the sensation, I was talking hspa+ speeds in general. At the upper end it and lte are almost identical.

I've seen 18 down on a galaxy s 4g. I've also gotten the ceiling of the sensation of 14 down. Also, my pings haven't gone higher than 60. (Usually right around 52)

I have to ask... what exactly are you people downloading on your phones that require anything over 21mbps??? YouTube videos stream fine over 1mbps. I mean if your downloading huge files then I can understand but this is actually why carriers are eliminating unlimited data plans. Honestly, 5mbps is plenty for me. I can't see paying $110/mo for an individual line with Verizon.

LTE can get too 300mbs, theoretically. HSPA+ can do about 100mb. Not the same peak.

Peak doesn't matter. You'll never see those speeds. T-mobile's HSPA 42 network as currently deployed can get the same speeds as Verizon's LTE network. I've seen it and experienced it.

True you'll never see speeds like that, but you said at the high end they're the same, when they aren't. LTE is a superior technology. There's a reason every major network is adopting it. But I agree you probably won't see much difference between the 2 at this point. I'm averaging around 15mbs

I think is fast enough, just wish I could get this speed ask the time.

Sorry I should have qualified that high end part with the phrase 'actual speeds'. LTE obviously has a higher theoretical peak since its a more advanced technology. (especially in LTE Advanced form) Right now, though, for the end user, LTE and HSPA+ 42 customers will see about the same speeds. What will be interesting to see is if T-mobile continues to scale up their HSPA+ network to HSPA+ 84, or if they stop at 42. If they do choose to scale it up, T-mobile's network could potentially be faster than Verizon's.

Why are you replying to me thusly? Is that supposed to mean something to me? I don't live in New York, and that doesn't list which carrier, anyway.

LTE can get too 300mbs, theoretically. HSPA+ can do about 100mb. Not the same peak.

Current LTE is limited to 100 Mb/s in 20Mhz bandwidth. WiMax is currently 128 Mbs in that bandwidth. And HSPA+ is 22 Mbs.

None of this means anything, because theory is meaningless. What matters is implementation. Besides, in MY area, there is no Sprint 4G, there is no Verizon 4G, and there is no AT&T 4G. There is only the T-Mobile pseudo 4G/3G+, and it is a LOT faster than any other carrier here (by orders of magnitude) and likely to remain that way for years.

Hspa+ is 100 theoretical, but the fastest that can actually be deployed is 84 mb/s. Tmobiles fastest is 42.

Yes you are correct in theory however at the moment there are not devices that take advantage of high end hspa+ speeds and LTE is said to have a higher ceiling (which will probably never be seen) but this is not a thread for that discussion lol. Regarding one of your previous posts I definitely notice the speed difference on my devices. Although both are crazy fast for a mobile device app and media downloads are much faster on the Charge. And I use the mobile hotspot ALOT.

That said, I love the Sensation. Slickest device i've handled except maybe the imported Galaxy S 2 my friend has. It makes the Charge feel like a toy. Ugh at least I have a few more days to decide.

Seeing speeds around 10-12 down this morning on sensation. Definitely a bit faster than yesterday although it seems to be very erratic.

Fastest I've gotten on Verizon is 37 Mbps down & 9 up. Someone else here posted 55 Mbps. Haven't seen anything close to that on T-mobile yet but I hope we will soon. We need more competition among high-speed networks, especially when it comes to Verizon-like coverage.

How does 37 Mbps benefit you? I am really curious to as what people are downloading that they need these types of speeds. Don't know why people want to give Verizon $110/mo when you can give T-Mobile far less and get a lot more. Coverage an issue with T-Mobile? Say hello to WI-FI calling. Verizon why don't ya have that? Verizon is axing their unlimited data plans July 7th so then what's the point? 2GB for $30/mo? That's just crazy. Their speeds might be impressive but what is the point of an LTE network when there are data caps? Faster speeds to get to your data cap is how I see it. T-Mobile wins hands down in my book.

Just got back from San Francisco and was getting 18 down and 12 up on verizon with thunderbolt. That's about 1/3 faster than I get in Tampa where I live.
