Speed on a phone is a little like torque on a car (on a much smaller scale): it's addicting. I just like it, what can I say. But even with these speeds, there are times I have to wait. Not a matter of necessity, but who wouldn't want a more responsive phone? I don't get involved in fanboy discussion of one brand or provider over another, hence my point of view regarding competition being good. I've always had excellent service on Verizon, but I tried T-Mobile once and they had horrible coverage here in central Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. Went back to the store a couple of years ago and they sales rep told me not to bother so I didn't. I would hope it's better now but don't really know. WiFi calling also doesn't help you if you don't have WiFi access, but I do have the leaked Skype video chat on my ThunderBolt and it works great on Verizon's network or WiFi. I'm grandfathered for unlimited data on Verizon (not sure for how long) so I don't have a 2GB ceiling.
