Post your HTC U11 review/initial thoughts here!

Question for you guys that have your hands on one. One of the reviews claims you can't see the device in landscape mode with polarized sunglasses. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

Yes its true, I just tried it here sitting at my desk.

What do people not like about the included case? Not enough protection? I do want a clear case.

I'm getting my phone this Saturday. I will wait and try the included case before i decide if i need to buy another one

For those who have the black, how black is it? Pics show a lot of dark green at various angles and I love that. But if that isn't the reality then I may need to look at the other colors.

here are my thoughts on it. Took the phone to work today to play around with it and listen to pandora while working. Phone is fast and smooth. nice looking screen too. mine has a tiny bit of bleed at the bottom but barely noticeable. not going to cry about it. sure the htc u11 is big and bulky but that can be ignored since everything else is really great.

I own the Westone UM2 IEM's that i've had for nearly a decade and have enjoyed them. Today i gave the included Usonic buds a try. I had my doubts. i got them into my ears and listened to some music and eh not too exciting. substandard sound. then i configured them in the settings. Bam. Much much better. I was very impressed. Heck it reminded me of that silly HTC USonic commercial i saw on youtube which is how i reacted too. Sound quality wise i say after configured to my ears, they are silky smooth and rich in sound. full. not over bassy or over treble or too much midrange. I loved them. I came home to compare with the Westone UM2's and man what a disappointment. i tried an eq app with the UM2's and without. They just couldn't beat the USonic earphones. Hate saying that $275 IEM's didn't sound good when up against something much cheaper. maybe they just need a high quality dac or something.

Camera quality. Speedy and focuses fast. haven't tried taking pics much yet. I have 120 geckos to try the phone out with. another day to experiment.

Sapphire blue is more dark in tone but love the shimmer and how it looks. Speakers are not bad. Not the best to me but they work well enough. Volume on the U11 can get loud enough.

The clear case covers the back and 4 corners. The sides are left open. It is not a soft TPU case with shock protection. Adequate, but not great for protection. It's great for seeing the back of the phone. I does have a hole on the back down low for one of the microphones on the back of the phone.

Just got my unlocked U11 in Canada and everything is gravy except mobile data won't connect - continually saying disconnected. I have done the network reset, factory reset, manual apn entry, network type toggling, etc - still no luck. Anyone have a clue on what's going on?

I must confess the headphones/ Sound on this phone is awesome (To me)

Watching Netflix , the sound is sublime.

great job HTC

I'm using them instead of my bluetooth over the ear headphones for my commute on the train.

Picked mine up yesterday, coming from a iPhone 6 it is quite a bit larger and heavier than I'm used to but liking the extra screen estate. Battery life is impressive and it's still on first charge despite the fact I haven't really put it down yet.
Camera is quick and the images look really sharp but haven't had a chance to test it out properly yet.
One thing I do like that wasn't 'advertised' is that the press and hold app shortcuts are on this phone, similar to Pixel and 3D touch on iOS. Small thing but I like the fact it's there if needed.

Yep. Since this is running Android 7.1.1, you get that shortcuts. One of the few phones in the market that is updated to 7.1.1!

I didn't get my phone until last night, so I didn't have much time to play with it yet. I'm coming from an iPhone 6s Plus, so I'm accustomed to large phones (the U11 is actually a bit smaller). I've been using iOS for the past 3 years, so getting back into Android has been a bit of a learning curve. I'm sure I'll become re-accustomed to it after spending a bit more time with the phone.

My first impressions are that the display is absolutely fantastic (makes my iPhone appear washed out, in comparison), the phone is a speed demon, and a beautiful speed demon, at that. I'm now extremely curious to set up the USonic earbuds, since so many people are praising them. This is going to be a busy weekend!
