The highlight of our Vegas trip wasn't any of the big casinos, or The Sphere, or expensive shows, or outlandishly priced dinners -- it was a great little indie bookshop off the strip called The Writer's Block. Great selection of books, whimsical decor, and some very cool non-book items for sale as well. They also have a small cafe with great smoothies. If you're in Vegas, I highly recommend it!

The above 2 shots are actual offices that the staff use.

I got a big kick out of the above 2 shots -- they were selling figurines based on Hieronymous Bosch's famous triptych "The Garden of Earthly Delights", which is best known for the unhinged depiction of Hell.

Ok, AC, get ready for another vacation photo dump, this time from our recent riverboat cruise on the Rhône! Had an excellent trip thanks to Viking. First, had a brief layover in Paris Charles de Gaulle before flying to Lyon -- a tiny bit stressful, since we had a little less than 2 hours between flights, and had to first walk what felt like a mile (I think it literally took about 20 minutes) from our arrival gate to immigration, then sweat a few bullets in the typical line there. But we made it with some time to spare. Here's the spectacular design of Terminal 2F:

Caught a nice sunrise while waiting to board.

First excursion was to Beaujolais wine country, at Château des Ravatys:
