Thanks TreyDaPrince, but I've already done all of these things and encountered the problems noted in the original post. Perhaps the icon packs I downloaded weren't compatible with dxTop, and that's why they have no effect when selected; I'll try downloading a few more and see. [UPDATE: Yes, the two I downloaded must have been incompatible - I used dxTop's "find more icons" to locate compatible packs in the market]

However, with individual icons, as I noted, I can't find where any other icons are to select, once I'm dumped into the file system. How do you locate icons from other packs, themes, etc., to assign to an individual shortcut?

Thanks!

If you download a theme and want to use icons from that theme with another, you're unable to do so. You must download the icon pack individually. Here are the icon packs I KNOW are compatible with dxtop...
Aero Icon Pack
Sticker Icon Pack
Milky Icon Pack
System Force Icons
Unity Icon Pack

I love the TerraTime wallpaper, which is 'live' in that it slowly shifts focus to follow real-time global daylight, and also updates clouds from satellite imagery.

Regarding icons, I'm currently using the Aero pack, because I honestly don't like extremely 'different' icons just because they're always going to be mixed in with third-party app icons, which won't match. Aero is pretty generic. I would use the default icons if I could, but I can't figure out how to do that while using a theme.

I still have a question, though: does anyone know how to change my 'SMS' icon (actually Handcent SMS) into the Aero icon for messaging? I know how the procedure, just not where I can find the Aero icon image files (if they can be found through the file browser).

So I have the pure calendar, but all I seem to have is "grid" calendars.. How do you get that list view?

yea, it's part of the 2.1 ROM

it's beautiful widgets, the small home widget, i felt it looked better with the layout than the bigger one

That's what the clock will look like after the new update?

I just updated and see the change now... I like the new look and having WD I can have the best of both.

yea, i'm in the same boat, if i really want the flip clock one day i can just load up WWD. but right now, i think BW matches the look of 2.0+ more and kind of just look like it belongs there

I see everybody with the weather donate app. I bought that and installed is but it took up so much memory (200 mb) my phone just stopped working cause I have some other apps installed. Is there something I'm missing like a way to save apps to the sd card or do you guys just n ot have that many other apps?

I'm no expert but I think that you have a problem. I have both the WWD and the forecast add-on and together they are around 2mb.

I would take a look through your applications and see what is on there that shouldnt be.

Its Laik Agenda and its the free version not sure what you get extra from the paid version.

thanks! i didn't back up my copy of pure agenda and now i can't find it on the market :(

i'm confused as to why we can't find it in the market though, was it pulled or does it have something to do with 2.1

i guess it was pulled for some reason...sucks.

i found another one called android agenda widget. i like the layout for that one more and the dark theme kind of fits in with the new android widgets i feel
