hows 2.1 on it? i'm really tempted to try it out, but the thing i can't do without is GPS, and i heard it doesn't work...

It's really smooth, a few apps don't work like seesmic but twidroid does. It acts a little weird if you wake it up by opening with the keyboard but other than that I haven't had any issues

Does anyone know what time/weather widget TreyDaPrince on page 9 (Christmas theme) is using and how you change the colors on it?

Also what calendar widget Mydnightsorrow is using in his homescreen on page 12?

I was using Weather Widgets Donate. One of the reasons why I like WWD better than BW is because they have skinnable weather and clock.

I know in Dxtop there is an option to turn the camera button into a screen capture button. Just can't use it while another app is open.

There's an app for rooted users, it's called drocap2 for root users

yea, i knew about the screen capture in dx top and home++, but was wondering how to do it in 2.1 w/o a home replacement, i haven't felt the urge to make the stock desktop any different yet...

so here's my new screens, not fully setup yet, but almost there.

PS, the live wallpaper, while still a bit buggy, are AMAZING! the one i have changes from day to dusk to night and the grass movement is just subtle enough to not be distracting or annoying...

Another new screenshot for today. I love changing me screens around and fiddling with icon packs. This is the sticker icon pack and using dxtop this time around...

TreyDaPrince... How do you make your own backgrounds for weather widgets? How did you make the christmas weather widget you posted earlier? I would really like to use that same one with a different background or something.

I'm using weather widgets donate. Once you download and add the widget to you're home screen, find the app icon and open it, scroll down and find the option to download clock skins. There's also an option to download weather skins. You can't preview any so you're just gonna have to choose by name. Me, I downloaded them all. They're small file sizes and they go to your sd card. Once you download them go to install weather skin from sd card and viola. Do the same for clock skin.

The clock skin I used on the Christmas on was called nature. The weather skin was called sticker. On this one the clock skin was clock_glass and the weather skin was klear.

Question: I've also got DXTop, and am enjoying trying different themes, and mixing them with other backgrounds, but I can't seem to figure out a way to use different icons with a theme, either individually (assigning a new icon to a shortcut) or applying an icon pack. When I try to do individual icons, I can't find where any icons are located from other themes, icon packs, or even default icons. When I apply an icon pack, it just doesn't work (perhaps because there's a theme in effect?)

Any advice would be appreciated.

Go into the market and search icon packs. Most will say compatible with open home/better cut/freshface and won't even mention dxtop. Truth be told some are compatible with dxtop. Its just hit or miss. I just started downloading and found which ones work with dxtop and uninstalled the ones that didn't. Once you have them installed go to your home page, hit the menu button and select appearance. Click icons and select use an icon pack. It will list all of your installed icon packs and choose one. If you want to change an individual icon, long press the icon, select change icon and off you go!

Is that blue widget with the time and weather something new with 2.1?

Thanks TreyDaPrince, but I've already done all of these things and encountered the problems noted in the original post. Perhaps the icon packs I downloaded weren't compatible with dxTop, and that's why they have no effect when selected; I'll try downloading a few more and see. [UPDATE: Yes, the two I downloaded must have been incompatible - I used dxTop's "find more icons" to locate compatible packs in the market]

However, with individual icons, as I noted, I can't find where any other icons are to select, once I'm dumped into the file system. How do you locate icons from other packs, themes, etc., to assign to an individual shortcut?
