Potential Droid X Owner from Blackberry Storm 2

I finally took the plundge and purchased the X via Amazon Wireless today for $49.99 with free 2 day shipping and no taxex.

I know the Thunderbolt will be available on the 17th, but I did not feel like spending the $250 plus tax at the Verizon Wireless store. From what I've read I'm sure that I will be completely satisfied with my X.

And I figured out the copy/paste question. X.

Ya, I'm with you.. All this Tbolt talk is great and I'm sure its going to be a sweet phone. But I really didn't want to spend 249 plus taxes and who knows what other fees they would have.

Just got the X! Activated it and started setting up some of the user settings. Next step will be to root, back up and get rid of all this bloatware.

For some reason the pattern lock does not initiate when coming from standby. It only kicks in when I fully turn off the phone and then back on again. I've double checked my settings with my co-worker's droid and they are identical. Any reason this would be happening?

Congrats on the X purchase! I just got mine earlier this week myself! Used Z4 root (the instructions and vids on YouTube are invaluable!), Titanium Backup and Bootstrapper backup completed. Bloatware frozen! I am going to test out a few ROMs this weekend as I have more time. I also got my work email (Exchange) running yesterday, works REALLY well. This thing is crazy customizable!!

I don't have an answer for your question, but I will tinker with mine and see if I get the same results you did above. More to come ...

I figured out the standby lock pattern issue. I thought that it would automatically initiate the lock pattern when coming back from standby like the Coby MID7015A tablet that I just purchased a few weeks ago. I went in and changed the "Security Lock Timer" to a lower number. Thanks!
