Does it drain charge from the 5x by default or charge the 5x by default?
It charges the 5X by default.
Flicked via the BlackBerry keyboard on my Nexus 5X
Does it drain charge from the 5x by default or charge the 5x by default?
[*]Doesn't require you to press button before charging to charge the phone (versus charging the portable charger)

So it drains the 5x by default, and if you want it to charge the 5x instead, you press the button first?About the battery I linked to, there is a button you have to press to start charging a device off of it.
When you say "auto turns on," do you mean it automatically charges (as opposed to drains) the 5x when you plug in the 5x? Or do you also have to press a button first on that? The Monoprice power bank auto turns on when you connect it to the 5X.
Why do you doubt it?I doubt any power bank would ever siphon current from a phone to charge the bank.

Thanks for the clarification. I suppose doing nothing is better than draining the phone's charge. Ideally I'd like not to have to press a button, though.I've left it plugged in for about 10 minutes before without pressing the button on the battery bank. It doesn't show or seem to do anything. No drain is apparent
