Power bank

[*]Doesn't require you to press button before charging to charge the phone (versus charging the portable charger)

About the battery I linked to, there is a button you have to press to start charging a device off of it.

So it drains the 5x by default, and if you want it to charge the 5x instead, you press the button first?

The Monoprice power bank auto turns on when you connect it to the 5X.
When you say "auto turns on," do you mean it automatically charges (as opposed to drains) the 5x when you plug in the 5x? Or do you also have to press a button first on that?

plug the 5X into the Monoprice power bank and it will start charging the phone without any other actions by you.

I doubt any power bank would ever siphon current from a phone to charge the bank.

No, that would be totally stupid, but I've read reviews of power banks that supposedly do that (if I can believe the reviews).

After reading the reviews on the one axellbeer linked to, I see it's more that the button has to be pressed to turn it on, which makes more sense, but it's still an unnecessary extra step, as far as I'm concerned.

I've left it plugged in for about 10 minutes before without pressing the button on the battery bank. It doesn't show or seem to do anything. No drain is apparent.

Flicked via the BlackBerry keyboard on my Nexus 5X

Thanks for the clarification. I suppose doing nothing is better than draining the phone's charge. Ideally I'd like not to have to press a button, though.
