Power button delay

So the note 2 has an infuriating 2 second delay to turn the screen on. Looking at the androidcentral gs5 review and it mentioned a screen on delay as well.

Anyone with experience with the note 2 issue able to speak to whether the gs5 does the same thing?

On mine its like a 1 second delay. If you can even call that a delay.

There's a delay. Yeah its not long in terms of actual time but it's annoying none the less.

Try turning off the transition/animation delays in developer options.

I have all mine turned off, but I think as this is the lock screen (simply turning on the screen) it has no effect - mine takes about a second to turn on. I hadn't noticed there was a delay until it was pointed out haha. I think hanging around on the forums is making me think the phone is less good than it is

I never noticed a "delay" either until it was pointed out. It's only a second or two. If that.

I also have a delay. Wish they would make it instant. Maybe it has to do with powering on an AMOLED screen versus LCD?

The note 2 was instant until 4.3 came. It's something to do with a new way the cpu goes to deep sleep or some crap that everyone has figured out except samsung.

If it's 1 second as previous poster said that may be tolerable. The note 2 is so bad you'll click the power button again thinking it didn't register just to have your screen turn right back off as the screen flips on and registers your second click. Long explanation, but annoying enough for my non-tech wife to hate it.

I put my iPhone 5S and the Galaxy S5 side by and side and pressed the power on each. They both took the exact same time. I don't consider 1 second to turn on a "delay"

Anyone try Softlocker? Seems to work well in eliminating delay, but not sure what it will do to battery life.
