Hey guys, so, after a year-or-so streak of no hardware problems from my Nexus S 4G, it looks like the power button has randomly destroyed itself. From whatever unusual behavior I could surmise from it, it seems like it's sort of half held in and the other half not. If I take out my battery and put it back in, the phone will start on its own. Usually when changing or taking out the battery the phone requires you to hold in the power button to start it back up. On the other hand, the phone will not respond and lock to the power button when pressing it. I'm running stock Jelly Bean. I had to install some kind of "Fix Power Button" app to make it respond to the volume buttons to turn back on, but I feel like this kind of workaround isn't the solution I want. Before I go to Sprint and raise hell if they don't want to help me, does anyone have any hints to get it working again? I'm convinced this is a software issue. Thanks.

Have you tried a factory reset to see if it is software related?

I had the same issue. Went to Sprint and they gave me a refurb.

I went to the Sprint store too and they also gave me a refurb. Glad they didn't leave me high and dry.
