Power button is broken and the top volume button doesn't allow me to select.

I own a Motorola, not sure which type, and my power button has been broken for quite some time. Usually I am able to just hold down on it really hard and do a special little wiggle for it to turn on, but sometimes that doesn't work and I'd really love to find an alternative. I found the method of plugging in the USB and holding down the bottom volume button simultaneously, and scrolling to find "start". I've read that if you press the top volume button it will select but for me it just scrolls up. Does anybody know a solution?

Why don't you just get it fixed? Pressing hard may cause further component damage and you'll be back asking "How can I recover my data?"

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, but I don't think there are any workarounds. You probably need to get the button repaired.
