Power Button Too High on the S10 Plus

I look at it like, at least I won't accidentally press the power button when it's in my hand, turning on or off the screen when not meaning to. I've done that with other phones, and it's annoyed me. Also, I think they did that to differentiate it from the other keys, so you don't accidentally press them instead.

I recall when the power buttons on most devices were located on the top of the frame. Worked well for me; no accidental touches. This should be fine too.

I believe this will be the only thing that will bother me. :-\ What you think?

Like anything else, it will be a big deal for some, a non-event for others. I didn't test it on the demo unit at Best Buy. it's probably not a deal-breaker for most people if you really like the phone.

The Blackberry phones have a cool feature--double tap.

I specifically left a blank space on the front screen, without an app icon, so I could double tap the screen and turn it off.

I noticed on my dad's iPhone that the power button is on the top, not on the side; that's not workable at all for me.

So, it looks like there are better answers and worse answers.

No issue for me but I have pretty big hands. I played with one in Costco and obviously didn't think anything of it being higher up on the device until I read this post. I also have a iPhone XS Max and it is located a bit higher on the frame than my S9+ and I've never had an issue with it.

Would be nice to be able to reprogram the Bixby button as the secondary power button ;) I hold left hand most of time so that would be cool for me.

Or one feature that was the best when first came out my the LG G2... just doubletapping the screen to power off. They need to make that available on all these large slabs. I guess there has to be an app for that... Nova launcher have that feature??

Oops missed this after I posted you answered my question about Nova... kept my 8 stock since new but I may revisit it after OneUI update. I kinda miss the left swipe to Google page too.

You can set this up with Nova Launcher. Currently can double tap to lock on my Note 8 and will setup for my S10+ that should be delivered today ??????

I'm having to re-train my muscle memory from the previous Galaxy S phones. It's a tad irksome, but I'll get used to it. Thank God it isn't on the top; man, I used to hate that.

I think it's too high on the regular S10 for that matter. Volume keys too. Having to hold the phone up that high to reach them messes up the center of gravity in relation to where it rests on your hand. It makes it somewhat unstable IMO.

Agreed. It is too high. It should be positioned with the top of the button where the bottom is now.

I think it is way too high right now, mainly because I am used to my S8+, in a month I will be used to it and will think it is placed perfectly.
