Power guzzling/rapid battery drain on my SGN3 SM-900

I recently got an SGN3 (Samsung Galaxy Note 3) -fairly used. It's in good condition but the battery that came with it goes down quickly. I got another battery (genuine but not new) and that one performs better.

What I did notice is that like the forget battery, it will drain while I'm using the phone, even when it is charging (connected to a power source).

I'd like to know from experienced users what kind of performance a new battery gives; what I should expect from a new battery:

Eg. With a new battery, can it lose more power than its getting if I'm doing some demanding stuff (like multitasking) on the phone?

If you are playing say a video intense game, yes, the battery will drain and not charge. This will be true of a new or used battery.

As for doing normal things like surf the web while charging....you will most likely see a slower charge, but it should charge.

Thanks, I also found out that not using a genuine charger helps drain the battery. I appreciate your insight
