i really like this music player and i am even thinking of buying it after the trial runs out but.............why does it always run in the background..every time i put my ear buds in my phone i hear music playing from this player..why can't i shut it off.i do not have this problem with the stock player..anybody have any answers .thanks

I had the same issue and found this post in the PowerAmp forums...

Sorry, this is not supported by Android OS/APIs and killing/crashing apps is not recommended by Android core devs due to higher cpu/battery consumption, as Android uses processes to cache app data.
PowerAMP unloads itself in 30 sec of inactivity. If Resume on headset option is enabled, after Player service is unloaded, micro headset support service is started to support the headset. PowerAMP has nothing to do in the background when it's paused.

Power Amp > Settings > Headset Options. Uncheck "Resume on Headset Connect"

That should do it.
