MODS: This is getting some much-needed info for my Optimus S Control Center, so don't give me any off-topic nonsense :p :p :p

Anyone know how I can pre-configure the Superuser permissions database?

As part of the new automated rooting procedure, the Control Center installs some automation scripts to /system/bin. When these are run for the first time (e.g. /system/bin/installrecovery), Superuser prompts for permissions. This wouldn't normally be an issue, but if (a) the user's screen is locked, or (b) the user doesn't notice the prompt from Superuser, the script will timeout and nothing will happen.

I most certainly have no clue..and this is kind of OT to your OT....but would it be crazy to pop up a dialog on the computer saying "check your phone dummy"?

Surely, it is a data file that is updated when you give an apk su permissions and tell it to remember, whether in /data or on the sdcard?

Try this location:

/data/data/com.noshufou.android.su/databases

There is an sqlite database file in there with all of the su permissions. May or may not help, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Yep, it's permissions.sqlite. However, when I copy that file (or even the whole com.noshufou.android.su folder), Superuser says FU and overwrites it.

*shakes fist*

I might just go back to what shortyjacobs said and display an alert dialog every time the user needs to allow root privileges.
