I wonder what will happen if the HTC DLX comes out mid-Nov with a $199 price? It seems like there will be pressure to lower the GN2 price (similar specs), but they certainly couldn't lower the price as they're still shipping pre-orders out, could they? I'm not due until 11/27, so I'll just sit back and hope competition does its thing.

I am seeing this under my pre-order status. It should show you what your expected ship date is.

"We received your order and it is in process. Expected Ship Date: 11/27/2012"

T-Mo just offered me a pretty good deal to switch from Verizon, which I'm considering for a number of reasons, including the Note 2 immediate availability.. Can I ask why you switched to ATT? Did T-Mo suck?

Ive been with T-Mo for about 6+ years and while service and data speed have always been great while in the city but going out of the city completely sucks.
The place I work now is about 4~ miles outside of Tulsa, Ok and im lucky enough to have a bar and 2g speeds. Not worth it for me and rather spend an extra 20 for better service.
Ive called tech support as that area was supposed to have service and complained. 2 years working at this location and nothing has been done to resolve issue. Service is not great if you tend to go on road trips as you will encounter the same problems. Hope that helps.

Where are you seeing that? When you check the order status? When I check mine it just gives my order # and then tracking # is blank and nothing else on Verizon's site. In the two emails, nowhere does mine say that! Damnit!

It does, thanks. I'm in the NYC area, so it shouldn't be that much of an issue. Still considering it. The fact that they have it today is a big plus ;-).

I talked to Verizon and they weren't very helpful. I'm going with the t mobile deal. They're paying my ETF, giving me a free GS3 for my wife, a free texting phone for my kid, and the new note 2 for $49 with no activation costs. And my monthly bill will be $20 less. I'll try it for a few days before switching the number to make sure the coverage is okay for me.... But it was a no brainer since Verizon wouldn't do anything for me. I've been with them since the early 90s, too. I tried.

if they really offered u all that why are you even considering verizon?

I like the network and I'm change averse. Was too good to pass up, though. I'll have the new phones by Monday. Here's to hoping the network pans out.

I went in to the store today to make my preorder and they walked me through the online version because I needed it shipped to a particular location and the sales rep said that while the website says Nov. 27, it is more likely that the phone would be making its way out sooner than later. He made it sound like that is the "last possible" date for it to ship, and suggested it could be on its way out to me within a week.

He said the iPhone dates are often setup the same way and that the phones get shipped out more quickly than indicated by the website.

So there's some hope.

Dont cancel the 2nd line. Just put a dumb phone ($9.99 a month and drops the $30 monthly data charge as well) on the 2nd line and move the Note 2 on to your primary line. Cheaper than an ETF plus you get a 2nd line to use as a backup/alt number. (I use my dumb phone when mountain biking or water sports).

Data is an feature/option, and that is why you can replace the 2nd line with a dumb phone and swap a smartphone to your intended line.

Very smart! Never would have thought of that. It would save you about $175 or so doing it this way. Plus you'd have an extra phone kicking around.
