The original rep who called me/ put me on the list is who im doing business with at 8 am on 12/8...this other lady was trying to get herself a sale by telling me to wait till 10:30 am.

I called my local verizon store..

Verizon: Hi this is brooke can I help you?
Me: Hey how ya doing.. so is the Galaxy nexus for sale on Thursday or Friday?
Brooke: err..hold on one second
(15 seconds passes, she returns sounding nervous)
Brooke: Uhh we dont even know when its coming out.. nothing has been announced..
Me: Okay.. thanks.


basically.. the point of this is that its clear that she had the phones there and they are aware of them, they are obviously not suppose to mention anything but some people are more of "go-getters" then others.. some will follow the rules and be scared of breaking them.. others will want to line up sales on a hot new phone and they will set up appts.. essentially they believe the reward of line'ing up the sales is worth more then the risk of getting in trouble for saying something you werent suppose to say yet.

I could tell by the fact that I asked her Thursday or Friday? that I caught her off guard and she almost just squealed out what day.. she collected her self and put me on hold and obviously her manager told her to not say anything.. I think the only reason she didnt just immediately say Neither day, or I dont know.. is because she was caught of guard because I didnt just ask her when its coming out, I specified the days.

I'm debating whether I should call my hometown's corporate store to ask. Seeing as I'll be heading home for the weekend if a launch Thursday or Friday is all but certain.
Only issue with calling about it is I don't know how I could 'prove' any positive results

I just called the verizon store that you are referring to in particular..the store representative said the galaxy nexus is confirmed on the 9th, not the 8th. He also mentioned that the Droid 4 is confirmed for the 8th. Hope this helps. In addition, I called three times already during the past 3 days, and a guy is picking up..not a lady.

Adding on to that call I made:
When I asked about the phone initially, he said he didn't know the release date..but when I questioned him further about his store in particular being posted online, he went on to confirm it the release date. Seems like he's keeping it under wraps.

I just called the local corporate branch and got the ol' "sign up on verizonwireless.com for email on release date" after she conferred with the store manager. As if "can I say anything yet?". "Nope. Give them the email sign up response. "

My lady rep specifically said that since I was on the list at this store as a "preorder" I will be able to pick mine up on the 12/8...Guess others will have to wait till 12/9....The other rep that tried to steal the sale when she called me back, also said the earliest she could sale would be the 12/8.....

I need someone to call & confirm my Validity on this post, since I see there are doubters. If possible just ask them "If you can come in on 12/8 and purchase the Galaxy Nexus" instead of saying you saw it on the forums. Preferably someone who is due an upgrade or adding a line..

The Verizon store is in Memphis on Union Ave. number (901)-278-2355 once they give menu choices hit option 3

I called and spoke with an agent at that store and he did confirm they would have them in stock and on sale Thursday morning.

I'm going to stop at that store around closing time tomorrow, state that I'm you and that I can't make it tomorrow, and nab yer phone... lol

I'll also tell them to watch out for imposters, that someone claiming to be "me" will try to come in and get theirs. So, do NOT sell to him!

Damn. Just called my store and they wouldn't tell me anything. The rep however did say that he has been at work 2 hours, and I'm the 6th person that he has talked to today about it. That makes me scared a little.

Just called my local corporate store where I got the Rezound last week and they had no idea when it will be available since no release date has been announced yet. I am going to call a few more places.

My local store (30 miles away) had a rep take my name and number yesterday and said he would call and schedule an appointment when they were released. Neither he nor the manager would give a release date.
