Learned words are gone and won't add.. won't learn from my messages or apps. I get a 'keyboard has stopped ' message when I go into the predictive text settings... so annoyed. I've had every galaxy, this one has had so many issues.... dealing with this phone for about a year... lol. Anyway. Help.

1st thing out of the box, do a Restart.
if that don't work, then do step #2

2nd, do a cache partition clear
Power off, hold Vol up and Power ON at the same time.

Release buttons when the phone boots and blue menu appears.

Use Volume up/dn to navigate to clear cache partition.
this is harmless, and takes care of a multitude of problems.

report back if all is working again.

Ok. I thought about doing all of that. Figured it was about time... I won't lose pics will i? Cause I need to back it up..I guess... wish I could get a galaxy wizard to fix my phone up lol. Do all the debloating stuff and check things on it.. I just don't have time to learn everything and fix it. Haha. Thanks for replying

There is no danger of loosing any data.

Backups are necessary on any computerized device.
You should have three copies.

Kies 3.0 to the PC
superbackup to the extSDcard, and to email it to yourself

Right. Just haven't done it yet I need to backup so bad. Anyway... I cleared cache at bootup.. still getting the same message.

You have taken care of the basic 1 and 2.

Now you need to do step 3, uninstall the keyboard app and download it again.

You have taken care of the basic 1 and 2.

Now you need to do step 3, uninstall the keyboard app and download it again.

Be careful doing that. First make sure you have another keyboard or you can face some problems. So my recommendation, install a third party one (SwiftKey I would say), confirm that it's working and set it as default. Then you can mess around with the Samsung one.

I'm not sure if you can uninstall it. Maybe just disable it.

My tangle got in front of my tungle.

You can't uninstall the OEM keyboard, only unclick it so that it is not being used.

Install a different keyboard such as SwiftKey which I used to prefer. After the latest update, I went back to the Samsung stock keyboard because it has the numerals on top of the alpha keyset.

Go to settings, Application manager and slide the bar at the top to ALL then scroll down to Samsung Keyboard. Select it and click CLEAR DATA. Then go back to home screen, select settings, MY DEVICE and scroll down to Language and input. Click it then click Sansung Keyboard and then click Predictive text. Turn on the feature and click one of the learning options. I used the Learn from messages.

After that go to home screen and everything should be fine.

There is no option to CLEAR DATA for Samsung Keyboard. There is no MY DEVICE. No option anywhere for PREDICTIVE TEXT. Till yesterday is was all working fine. Suddenly today it has all gone. I am using the Samsung Galaxy Note 6. Would appreciate a solution as it is impossible to type in every single character!

Thanks a lot
It fixed with me by your solution

If you've cleared your user dictionary, you may need to download new language packs for your current language. That gets erased if you have gone to Applications --> Samsung Keyboard and cleared your data there.

To download a language pack, go to Settings --> "Language and Input" --> "Samsung Keyboard" --> "+ Select input languages". Scroll down and find your desired input language. For me, I had to choose "English (US)" and tap on it to download it. It was a fairly small and quick download and then my predictive text and Samsung Swiftkey started working again.

You should also then go to the "Predictive Text" section of the Samsung Keyboard config page and click on "Learn from messages" or any of the other sources that you want to learn from.

No you wont loose all your data.

No you won`t loose all your data I do it all the time, I even use custom recovery to, wipe cache and dalvik, as long as you select wipe catch partition not wipe data factory reset you should be sweet, hope I helped just reinforcing that it`s safe to do so.

You are amazing! I have been trying to fix this for so long....
All working now, thank you very much.

This really worked. Thanks so much!!!
How did you figure this out?!!

I went to settings-more settings- applications-installed and then deleted touchpal. To my relief, my predictive text has started working. So I created an account here and have shared my success, so that the ones not able to do so can benefit from my post. I was really having a desperate time trying to make my predictive text work. all the best guys.
