Preferred Keyboard

For all my previous phones, I've used Gboard. For this new S22 Ultra I thought I would give the Samsung keyboard a shot as I thought I read that it works better with the Spen then Gboard.

I hated it. I found autocorrect a pain and swipe typing not as good as with Gboard.

Anyone else think this, or am I doing something wrong?

I'd also recommend SwiftKey, which is what I'm using now. I actually alternate between the stock keyboard app, SwiftKey and Gboard.

After using a Blackberry for soooo many years I just can't use another keyboard now. I'm ruined. I try, I do. I will switch back and forth constantly trying to get used to something else. And I just can't. It's the little things my brain just can't change.

Understandable, I can't get use to swipe typing I ve tried but just can't

Right now I am trying to give the Samsung keyboard a try with hopes that's it's gotten better , but it's a struggle. I will probably be back on gboard by the end of the night. The autocorrect and predictive text on the Samsung keyboard is awful. Lol

I love the customization options of the Samsung keyboard, but gboard is just more usable.

You can still find the BB keyboard APK. I do pay for the entire BB suite but the keyboard is no longer included so you have to download it separately and it works fine.

Another happy Swiftkey user! Just love a customizable keyboard and predictive. Have been using it for years.

Personally I prefer Gboard on all my devices. Don't like the Samsung keyboard and first thing I do is install Gboard.

I generally have SwiftKey installed as well, so will give it another shot since it's been a while.

For me gboard has always worked best for swipe typing.

long time Swiftkey user here. have never used Gboard.

may i please request someone here who knows BOTH Swiftkey and Gboard to kindly please tell us how these two compare?

i am very interested in seeing what folks think about these two when compared directly with each other. is one clearly better?

thank you.

For me yes gboard is better because the prediction and swipe works better than SwiftKey. Everytime I tried SwiftKey previously I went back to gboard after few days.

But as you see in this thread there are people with opposite experience. So you have to try on your own and figure out what's best for you.

I have and use both SwiftKey and Gboard. I prefer SwiftKey because I can customize the keyboard skin to my liking and can tweak it more all around. They perform very similarly, and couldn't tell you which one is better persay as it's really individualized. Both are miles ahead of any other keyboard in the app store including Samsungs native keyboard. I've recently defaulted to Gboard since setting up my Galaxy watch 4 to allow the Gboard keyboard to function on the watch which requires it to be your default to work. Having a full size keyboard to type on the watch was worth the switch for me. And since they are pretty similar in functionality, it was seamless.

I used to use Samsung keyboard until Gboard stepped up its multi-lingual support (for Urdu and Arabic, in particular.) Ever since then, it's been only Gboard for me.

BB could make a few bucks by selling it in the Play store. It's odd that other of their apps are available but the keyboard isn't.

I prefer the look, feel, key placement etc. of Samsung keyboard. However, as others have mentioned autocorrect and predictive text isn't great on Samsung's keyboard. I also hate where Samsung puts symbols/punctuation. I'm reluctantly using gboard for those reasons.
