"Preferred" wifi?

When I come home, my S5 wants to stay connected to weird old xfinity wifi instead of my house wifi. Xfinity wifi is provided by comcast, and is REALLY slow, but occasionally helpful when out in the car.. But I have to manually change to my house wifi every day when I come home. Is there a way to tell my S5 that my house wifi is always preferred?

Does the Xfinity WiFi signal reach into the house? Sounds like it may. If that’s the case, and the phone doesn’t ever disconnect from the Xfinity WiFi either due to distance or the signal cutting out, then it will not automatically switch over to the home network. I took a quick look in the Play Store and don’t see anything that will cut the current connection and switch to a more favorable one. At moment you may need to continue manually switching – I’ll keep an eye out in the Play Store for something that works a little better.

Try this app. You can configure it to switch to a "better" network. This might work for you....

Elsewhere I got a recommendation for Wifi Prioritizer, which solved my problem! It let me order wifi networks in order of preference, so it automatically switches to my home network when I get home.
