preinstalled apps display as other in storage?

[Android Central Question]

initially my phone showed 6gb under apps and data and 5gb as other.. after a few days and updating i looked and saw it was now 2gb apps and data 9gb other.

ended up factory resetting which seemed to revert it back to 6gb/5gb only 4 days later it randomly started showing 2gb/9gb again, not sure what is going on.. all the apps its now displaying as other are ones i can not remove and came preinstalled.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Does it matter how the storage is used? It sounds like you still have the same amount of total storage being used.
