Look through your apps, and it sure be there..look for S-Note, not S-Memo.

I hope this helps... :-)

I didn't get S Note either. S Memo upgraded, and I downloaded My Story fine, but S Note is nowhere to be found.
I've been doing a song and dance with Samsung trying to figure things out. Here's what I posted on the Rogers Community Forums about it:

"I actually went and contacted Samsung's support. After being told to factory reset by one person on the online chat (chose not to...), then being asked to call back and ask for a certain person by name after she went to get a sample phone to work with (they said they can't connect so specific people when I called back), I was told by the third person I spoke with that they're aware of the issue, and will be sending an update out. I also asked him about this S Note app in the Samsung App store and he said not to download that one.

Now, as a disclaimer, I'm just reporting what they told me. I honestly have 0 faith in the fiasco that is customer support, but thought I'd give it a stab, and thought other people may want to hear what I was told."
(Re: the S Note app in the Samsung App store - I have severe misgivings about that one. It's not from the same developer as My Story, the grammar is terrible, the tags are all off.. plus S Note was supposed to be part of the install, not a new download. So I'm not touching that one.)

Hope this gets sorted out. S Note is pretty much the only reason why I wanted ICS to begin with.

Edit: Called Samsung again, because I'm a masochist. First I was told to remove my battery, wait ten minutes, and call back if it isn't fixed, but when I pointed out that pulling a battery probably won't install an app on my device, he went to get their own Note to look at... and then said that it seems that the call centre's Note is ALSO missing S Note. Took my email address and said he'll contact me with any news.

Wow you went through a lot of work, I really appreciate all of this information. S Note was also mostly the reason I wanted ICS.

I'm sorry to hear this guys. I hope they fixes this mess up... Good day..

I'm sorry that I couldn't provide any more useful information. For the record, he DID email me back - oddly enough, from a Gmail account, saying this: "sorry there is no way to get the s note back only if you go back to the old OS"

Soo... there's that. I'm impressed that the guy went to the trouble.

Also of value, imo, is the fact that apparently the S Note app in the Samsung app store goes crazy with the permission requests. I didn't find that out myself, but someone on the Rogers forum was kind enough to list a few of them - and it's nuts. So.. probably a really good idea to stay away from it.

No worries, your information was actually very useful. And that's some pretty crazy stuff.

I sent an email to them a few days ago about it, too. Got the usual "We understand you are having trouble upgrading your device! We have confirmed your device is up to date!" message, to which I am unable to reply..? What's the point of that, exactly? All I can do is resubmit via a web form. So I just submitted my first message, their reply, and my third message. If anyone wants to save themselves the job of typing things out if you want to bother emailing them, or just wants to read what's going on, here you go:

- First message:
Hello,

I updated my phone to Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) yesterday which was supposed to come with Samsung's Premium Suite (apps included S Note, and upgrade to S Memo, and the ability to download My Story). S Memo upgraded to the new version, and I was able to download My Story from the Samsung App store, however, S Note did not download.

What are my options to receive this part of Premium Suite? When I check for updates, there are no new ones. I tried other the air, and through Kies, and am told that I am fully up to date.

Thank you for your help.

My "reply", which I can't send to Phil anyway:

Hello,

No, I have already updated my device without any problems, but there were features missing from the update.

If you look at this Samsung Mobile video, you will see the Premium Suite features that were supposed to come with ICS for the Galaxy Note, geared specifically toward the S Pen stylus the phone comes with:
[GALAXY Note] Introducing Premium Suite with Ice Cream Sandwich - YouTube

The three main new features of Premium Suite are the following apps:
S Memo
S Note
and My Story.

S Memo was an app that was already installed on my Galaxy Note as soon as I bought it. When I updated my device last week to ICS, S Memo was updated to have the new features without a problem.

My Story was a new app that was available for phones running ICS. When I upgraded my phone to ICS, I was able to download My Story from the Samsung App store without any problems.

S Note was an app from Samsung that was supposed to come bundled with the ICS upgrade. When I upgraded my phone (over the air, without any errors), S Note did not come with it. I have checked via Kies, and via OTA multiple times. There are no new updates for my phone, because it is running the latest version. However I did not get the Premium Suite with my update, as was announced. I do not appear to be the only one - in fact, one of the times that I called in, your Customer Care agent at the call centre went off to look at the Galaxy Note floor unit, and discovered that while it was also up to date and running the latest version of Android, the S Note app was missing from their unit as well. He was extremely puzzled and unable to offer a solution.

If you look here, you can see that I am not the only one having this issue:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-galaxy-note/189865-premium-suite.html

I would really appreciate it if you could let me know where I could direct my inquiries? I have tried multiple times to resolve this issue, or at least get an understanding of whether it has come to your company's attention, but unfortunately it seems that Customer Care agents do not seem to understand the problem, possibly because you have so many different phones and features to deal with. I understand that this is a tricky issue, however, the usage of Premium Suite/S Note is one of the main reasons why I am using a Galaxy Note and not another phone, and recieving the ICS update without all the promised features is proving incredibly frustrating to me.

Thank you very much for your time.

- End of ridiculousness.

On the one hand, I want to keep on them because I REALLY want that app... and on the other hand, this is making me feel like a lunatic.

I hate Customer Care, completely useless. But you SHOULD keep on them, because you're getting shafted without that app.

After going through a thread on xda developers, I thought that maybe a lack of space was the issue - some people said deleting apps and leaving 700mb of free space, then a factory reset was doing the trick. Sooo.. tried that. No luck.

Samsung's latest suggestion: wait for Jelly Bean. Or mail the phone in.
Considering my past experiences, I'm not about to mail my phone in for "8 - 21" days so I can get it back only to be told "Your phone is already up to date! We didn't make any changes! Yay!" or worse.

You say you have done a reset but have you tried reinstalling ICS through kies

I've plugged it in, loaded Kies, and checked for updates. It tells me everything is up to date and that seems to be all I can do. I tried the "Emergency Firmware Recovery" but every time I click on it, it disconnects my phone from Kies. Is there something I'm missing? I'd love to do this, I just don't know how to get it to go!

Edit: just tried firmware upgrade/initialization with my phone unplugged from Kies, and it tells me my model number is not supported for initialization.

Sadly, same thing. "SGH-I717R does not support initializing."

OK didn't realize you are on a Canadian note
Have read over at xda that for some reason
S note is missing for the Canadian note

Sorry, I probably forgot to specify. It's kind of hard to find Canadian specific info, so I'm leeching what info I can, where I can.

Thank you very much for trying to help. Would you do me a huge favour? If you have S Note - the one that came automatically with ICS - could you tell me what the app's ermissions are? There IS an S Note in the Samsung App store, but it looks really fishy, and it's permissions are through the roof. One customer support agent I talked to said to stay away from it... then another told me to download it. I'd love to compare the permissions for it to the permissions that the one that came with ICS has.

The one in the store asks for:
- Your personal information
add or modify calendar events and send email to guests without owner's knowledge, read Browser's history and bookmarks, read clendar events plus confidential information, read contact data, readuser defined dictionary, write BRowser's hisotry and bookmarks, write contact data
- Services that cost you money
directly call phone numbers, send SMS messages
- Your location
coarse (network-based) location, fine (GPS) location
- Your messages
edit SMS or MMS, read SMS or MMS, receive SMS or MMS
- Network communication
control NFC, create Bluetooth connectiosn, full internet access
- Your accounts
actas an account authentricator, manage the accoutns list, use the authentication credentials of an account
- Storage
modify/delete USE storage conents
- Hardware controls
change your audio settings, record audio, take pictures and videos
- System Tools
allow Wi-Fi Multicast reception, bluetooth administration, change network connectivity, change WIF state, change WIMAX state, change your UI settings, delete all application cache data, disable keyloack, format external storage, modify global system settings, mount and unmount filsystems, prevent phone from sleeping, retrieve running applications, write sync settings.

(Sorry for the typoes, too lazy to fix all that!)
Again, thanks.

I'm on a Telus Note and I updated, received no Premium Suite so went looking myself. If you have "Samsung Apps" app then go in there and download it manually. I have it and it works fine. Have to sign up though... pain the posterior.

I did see that one, but I was a little worried because it was asking for a ton of permissions, and the description seemed a little weird to me: "this application is S note can make own note." doesn't seem very legit - which is why I was hoping to compare permissions to one that came with ICS. At any rate, apparently the S Choice one is all good - Android Upgrade Procedure (first PDF includes instructions to download it from Samsung Apps.)
Thanks for your answer!

There are a ton of permissions on the stock app also ,tried to copy and paste them but it won't let me.
