Man, just pre-o'd two 5.8 gigers (lol). Going DR end of the month 25th hope it arrives by then. What the hell does 2-3 weeks really mean and also, is the shipping first come first serve? Or based on distribution centers? *shrug*

I agree, I think shipping should be free for pre orders.

I ordered mine on the 28th. I'm pretty excited about it. I will now have 4 tablets LOL. I'm going to sell my Xoom once my contract is up and probably use that line to upgrade to whatever is out by then.

Preordered the 16GB one. Gonna sell my ipad 3 once I get it and make a decent profit. Apple winning an injunction against the galaxy Nexus was the last straw... I refuse to support such a dirty company with my wallet.

The nexus 7 will be a perfect complement to my Galaxy Nexus. I'm going all Google from now on.

I'm right there with you on that one. As you can see in my info, I'm using a 4S. I've had this phone since January because I really wanted to try it out and see what all the fuss was about. In all honesty, absent a few things, it's not as good/fun/entertaining as an Android device. It does work very well, but it's pretty plain after that. I was wanting to get the N7 and keep this so I could have a little of both, but now I'm thinking I don't really want to give Apple anymore money. But I'm not sure I want a Nexus phone and tablet. Seems like a little overkill with them being essentially the same (never wanted an iPad with my iPhone for that reason). But I don't know if I can afford to get an SGS3 and an N7. I really wish Apple wasn't such a bully...

I reckon they've used up their 2-3 week stock with us lot, and the next batch from ASUS comes a week later.

If that is the case, I wonder how many were in that first batch? 250k?

Haven't checked my order status, will do that right now.

EDIT: Well, according to the Play Store, the order is Completed. I haven't checked before now, however, so odds are that it has been "completed" since the day I purchased it.

I just pre-ordered mine and the email I received said the account will not be billed until the Nexus 7 ships.

Yeah, I agree that they should've comp'ed us for the shipping. But, not a deal-breaker.

I just wish there was a better way to track shipping queue progress (I'm a little anxious to get it).

I'll add that I preordered my 16GB version last night. Accidentally had the wrong zip code for my shipping information, but called and got it sorted out.

Rather surprised that I got an American on the line around 1:00am EST... That's a +1 for Google and I haven't even gotten my Nexus 7 yet!

I am already flashing back to the torturous wait for Christmas when I was a kid.

Still said 2-3 weeks for new orders.

I never had a desire or need for a tablet so I just order a 8 since I still will use my phone more.
