Pretty awful battery life

I have been getting some bad battery life. I have the batteryguru app with most things turned on, gps off. I am at 56% after 3 hours 5 minutes. The screen is the biggest contributor at 34% and 45 minutes of on time. Second is my podcast player at 23%. Any suggestions? Can't figure out how to attach pictures in the android central app otherwise I would show all stats. I have the brightness set to auto.

If your phone is constantly searching for signal you will have horrible battery life!
There's not much you can do about it . It's the carrier - not the phone .

That seems like really excessive drain for 45 minutes of screen time. KevLar72 notes one possible source of battery drain - are you often in a weak signal area? Unless you really need the phone on all the time, if you do have a weak signal you can activate airplane mode to stop that as a source of drain. Also, check your wifi and make sure that's not on and looking for a signal.
