Does anybody think there will be a price drop anytime soon with a 2 year contract renewal? Probably in like the next month? I know you can get a reduced price from wirefly and amazon but I'm talking about just an upgrade straight through verizon.

If you have a New Every Two discount you can get 100, 50, or 30 off the price.

There are also corporate discounts. VZW will let you know if you qualify.

It's too soon for a price drop.

Oh okay, you have any idea of when price drops usually take place? like 3 or 4 months after a phones been out?

in about 3 months they will prob start running daily deals and holiday prices for a few days to a week at a time but there most likely wont be a substantial price drop for a while.

Example the Fascinate has been out for a while and just recently came down to $99.99 on contract for mother's day.

you can prob get a certified pre-owned bolt in a month or so for a bit less $.

That's probably about right, I suppose

Two words: supply and demand.

A lot of what factors into *when* a phone will drop in price has to do with several factors, such as when newer models get released, which could push the TB off the "top dog" spot. Is Verizon motivated to clear inventory? Is the phone no longer selling at the current price?

But generally, yeah, about every 3 or 4 months or so new devices get released that push the older ones down a peg on the price scale. No hard and fast rule from what I can tell though, and trust me, if Verizon is still selling units like hotcakes, they'll be in no hurry to reduce price.

Oh okay thank you all! I was only looking for maybe a price drop of maybe $50. I have a feeling that may come in a couple of months. This is gonna be hard to wait for!

I think you probably won't see a significant price drop for a few months.
With the small problems this phone has, it is still the flagship phone for Verizon and it is outselling the VZW iPhone. The King rules the castle...and right now, it's the King.
(I know why it's outselling the iPhone...just saying, it is.)
I think once you see 1 or 2 more LTE phones the Tbolt might drop, but in my opinion, no sooner. And it looks like the Bionic crowd is going through the same animosity we were about a release date.

6 months after release (March 17th) I think you'll see a drop, albeit a slight one, maybe 200 bucks for an upgrade instead of 250.

You can get them for under 200 bucks from Amazon. Not sure what the difference is in service. Last I saw, I think they were going for 179 from Amazon Wireless.

Paid 125.00 plus tax at BB

Here's the deal.

Was looking at the TB.....went to Fatwallet (signed in) and did the search. Fatwallet offered a $25 cash back. Second, wirefly had the TB for 150 just 2 weeks ago. code was Thunder0418 (if I remember right). Wirefly had the TB for 199- 50 discount, and when logged in and linked to Fatwallet, I would have gotten a 25 cash back.

So I went to best buy....didn't really explain that the 25 cash back would be sent later, but showed them both websites and the net price. They said no problem....matched the 125.00 price, and was going to give me a discount off accessories ....instead of the no tax thing, but I didn't want anything...so I didn't argue and paid the taxes. Cost me $132.00 out the door.

So if I buy the phone through someone else such as amazon, wirefly, or best buy, what's the difference between buying it through those sites and buying it straight from verizon? Are there extra contracts to sign?

Those sites have an additional ETF if you cancel before 181 days of service. Make sure to read the fine print.
